Edit: did more digging. None of these people appear to be devs, seems like all are cosplayers/twitch streamers from Australia.

So, was the plan to cut Shaundi out to a throwaway line or something? Because damn, if that's the case, that just supports my idea that SRTT was trying hard to ditch it's roots.

The original script had Shaundi go through a much larger arc where she'd only transition into nu-Shaundi due to Gat's death, coming to a head when Killbane turned Stilwater into a crater via dirty bomb.

IdolNinja dropped a ton of stuff on the SA something but then, you know, dropped dead. The initial scope was much darker, and much larger; but THQ got their budget and manpower slashed (why do so many missions end abruptly? Because they had half the animation budget and half the animators for intro/outrage sequences...), which lead to SR3 being neutered.

Damn shame.

Ew, I'm glad this didn't go through, they don't know how to make that character worth any screen time, though she had SRIV and the Christmas DLC to expand on her character. Oleg is the only newcomer worth a fart, Zimos and Angel are activity givers like the ones in SR1/2, but activities = missions in SRTT

Also I noticed Erica Lindbeck is the default Saint voice for females. Erica whyyyyyy you're better than this.

So it was confirmed the music is all new stuff? No 70s 80s 90s 00s? (I legit picture mowing people down with my car while Androgyny by Garbage plays lol. Alas)

Look, I feel bad for Lindbeck here and she deserves much better, but she just wants her paycheck.

If you look into it SR3 was actually rewritten a bunch of times to make it less dark. Apparently Killbane was going to nuke Stilwater, not just blow up the bridge, so all the prior game's characters would have been killed in the explosion. Wouldn't be surprised if Shaundi was going to be the major casualty there.

I argue Shaundi got the worst personality change after 2, at least the boss change is related to the opening of the game saying the Saints sold out (not too sure if he would do that tho), tho in exchange we got Oleg so uh...

That's because with Ultron Corp they're using their assets to make more stunning shit. Pierce's drink cola and the bank heist are more ads rather than actual gangsta shit.
Even the ads in Steelport with some saints in downtown area(?) are a fine example of solding out; not in a horrible manner, just more organizated, fancy and well-know worldwide than before at the cost of gangster-related lifestyle.

So, been doing some research as it's been awhile since I actually went thru and played SR series.

The reboot is actually, very possibly, Canon.

In the end of Gat Out of Hell, Gat is given a number or choices. Almost all of these are personal, except for one: one where the entire saints row timeline is reset.

The end of this shows gat and kinzie as cops interrogating a character from Agents of Mayhem. Meaning that it is the technically canon end.

This entirely leaves the door open for the New Saints to form in Santo Ilesso, while fitting into the story line.

Lindbeck is the default white woman, the one in promos, cover art, and videos is Bryce Charles (voice #4, I think), NuShaundi is a black woman though, if you watch CW's Flash you may recognize her.
