That really is the thing though (and a sign that shows how normal he thinks mobile game monetization is). Phil's streams are monetized exactly like a terrible free to play mobile game. You get the free rewards for showing up daily and giving him enough likes to hit the likes goal. Then, you have the whole subscription program to get the event rewards, special tier rewards for every $50 you spend, but the game itself is free so you can't complain! He even charges for DLC and Season Passes where if you want access to all the Final Fantasy 7 gameplay you need to pay up front for him to do those extra streams.
I just plugged his ZIP (98055) in their store finder earlier and it gave me three. No lures available in-store either.
Yeah, between this and his inevitable rant about EvilAJ basically stealing from him, tomorrow is going to be a good day for roasted pig.
This is just the beginning. Addicts often indulge more when they're upset, and "upset" is Phil's baseline these days. The discovery of his account and the ensuing irritation ever since then, has probably driven him to spend more and more. Consequence of not having any hobbies is that you try to be at peace using the very thing disrupting it. People found him after a name change? Nigel got him kicked out of another guild? Chat was extra out of line one day? Can't calm down with a massage, a bike ride, some lifting, playing guitar, etc. Gotta play and spend more to relax and escape.
