Um. Horseshoe theory has turned into a snake eating its own tail.

Oh boy, projecting identities and ship policing.

Edit: one more, I'm sure anybody who uses tumblr regularly knows about the blog sixpencee, who is an absolute mess of pseudo-edgelord shit from 2006, media masterposts, and other assorted garbage. They are ridiculously popular.

This is the post that made people begin to realize what a low-quality blog they were idolizing.

Actually, Tumblr HATES sixpenceee for a variety of reasons, including but not limited to "scary stories about the mentally ill".

Interestingggg. The only people I know who hate them are a small group who just think their content is unfunny and cringey.

including but not limited to "scary stories about the mentally ill".
Oh fucking please. As if the majority of the tumblr userbase didn't just come out of a "I'm so insane, hehe :3c *licks blood off knife*" phase.

Some love her, some hate her. Some hate her for stealing content, others for the mental illness shit, others because her content is entry-level creepypasta. But she is enormously popular, almost all of her posts get tens of thousands of notes.

No joke, in middle school my history teacher gave us a paper with this exact text word-for-word and even then we thought it was stupid. That was in...2006.

government researchers announced today their findings on a study they had been conducting in secret about the effectiveness of invalidating a person's fictional identity during interrogations. it was found that, on average, a subject's likelihood of cooperating increased by almost 200% when forced to either sit or stand in one spot while interrogators screamed in their face that they were not the REAL "Flowey," "Kaneki Ken," "Levi," etc. while periodically informing them that someone else in the room was the real version. however, those subject to this interrogation method often came out of it seemingly more severely traumatized than most individuals subject to any other method, and responded very poorly or not at all to subsequent therapy.

activist groups have already begun to challenge the legality of this method, with many openly stating that it is "the most inhumane act a human being could make upon another human being that the world has ever heard" and that they would not compromise for anything less than for it to be fully outlawed and permanently discontinued. some have even begun making the comparison that it is to psychological warfare what hiroshima and nagasaki were to nuclear warfare.
