I know that, but 'boring"? Living with mental illness can become its own routine, sure, but "boring" is a misnomer, as if it should be treated as being as mundane as being neurotypical. She could have just skipped right to how the media tends to gets mental illness wrong, which is something most everybody can agree with since almost nobody doesn't have at least one kind of mental illness or neurodivergence. It's like when she said that autism- yes, all autism- is a "minor inconvenience at worst" in the hands of a competent parent.

i think what bugs me about this is is how much it just spins in a fucking circle. Lily goes off like the characters have agency until they no longer fit the narrative she's trying to sell you in which case it's directed by the showrunners, until it's another thing and the character is treated like they aren't fictional until they do a thing and it's the responsibility of the writers and just going on and on and on and on. And if this were any other subject matter she might have a point but she's using it as part of SHIPPING DISCOURSE which is just...so so very unimportant in the grand scheme of things.

Imagine being a member of his YouTube audience who only partakes in his YouTube content and being bombarded with images, memes, character skits and what have you about these really poorly drawn comics ostensibly coming out of nowhere featuring domesticated Pokemon with no context to their existence and relationships with each other and how they relate to Jerry as a person.

Imagine the absurd amount of confusion an audience member has when Jerry starts autistically referring to his character in videos and streams with no introduction or content on who they are and why they matter because Jerry is too stupid to realize that his audiences are divided by platforms. One day the guy you go to for bitchy Western Animation content is talking to what can only be described as his Pokemon wife and their bastard-made daughter with a disgusting Chris-chan lite voice running all over every new video to come into existence as Jerry goes on tirade after tirade about how much better he is at writing while never introducing any of the stuff he's praising himself for to an audience that has just ASSUMED that he knows what he's talking about.

His YouTube audience doesn't know any of this Pokemon Madhouse shit, has barely an interest in his fucking self-fetishized fuel of a fan-faction that is The Sith Resurgence, and has no idea why these aspects that seemingly came out of nowhere are suddenly taking over the channel.

Look, all I'm saying is that if I was one of the casual subscribers to Jerry's YouTube channel and only his channel? This is the kind of red-flag content that gets me to unsubscribe at record speeds. And it's not just a Jerry thing; The second a YouTube channel tends to do this serialization in their work about media analysis my alarms go off something fierce since that's usually the point where I recognize that the heads of the people I'm watching are firmly planted into their ass.
