Especially considering that he's said multiple times that 1MM doesn't watch his streams. Must be nice having ESP.

I'm glad Phil is reacting to the MGS2 TIHYDP. As a huge, insecure, narcissist, who also fancied himself as "one of the best gamers in the country", he's haunted by TIHYDP.

Imagine the pain and embarrassment of thinking you were some sort of gaming virtuoso, only to realise you are the laughing stock of the entire online gaming community. Combine that with the extra humiliation of the fan edits of your stupidity and incompetence drawing 100x the views of the videos on your floundering YouTube channel and I genuinely believe that Phil sees the TIHYDP movement as the worst thing that's ever happened to him, even worse than the incident.

It's going to be amazing to see him try to pave over years of emotional damage by pretending he can laugh along with everyone at what a retard he is, all while holding back tears of hurt and anger as comments ridiculing him pop up on the screen.

I have to dig it up, but my favorite quote of his is when he's talking about some compilation video someone made of him, and he goes "someone made a video of the worst gaming moments of 2016 and it was all just me! How is that an object video when it's all my clips." It was both his narcissism and fragile ego coming into play. I do believe that if he had left the TIHYDPs alone at that time, he would be at a much better place in his e-career. Thats the tragedy of phil he can never have what he truly wants.

As much as I think social media was a mistake, we're living in a time where people all over the world can come together to watch a middle aged man going through a mid life crisis where he feels the need to watch old content of himself to retcon his past and convince himself he's had a good life.

I honestly think that LawyerSyde Phil is probably the objectively most dumbassed iteration of DSP. One of the most insufferable as well because it's one of the things he acts the most haughty about with that smug facade of being some kind of authority on it.

Has this fucking dunce EVER had a correct take when it comes to the law? I honestly think that his entire 'understanding' of law and the legal system is that if someone, somewhere, has done something towards him that he perceives is negative, they've broken the law. Meanwhile, he'll make all kinds of accusations about things like Twitch having bits as a way to launder money, and as long as he says he doesn't know it for sure, or that he's only speculating, it's all good. He uses 'illegal' as an adjective to reinforce the egregiousness of what somebody has done about 99% more often than he uses it to correctly accuse someone of having actually broken a law.

That's how he is with rules in general. He said it himself. He thinks that falsely copyright striking the stream would mean that AJ's channel and existence on youtube would be in jeopardy. Youtube doesn't chastise people for false strikes, other youtubers do. Proven abusers of the system are happily making videos on youtube, and IIRC none of them have faced any consequences besides being crucified by other youtubers.

Oh, Phil's not 1MM. That would be $25 a day he's not getting. I think 1MM is PlanetJeff, who either has an automated daily transfer of $25 or a weekly one of like $150 with instructions that it be treated as $25 per day stream. Phil just doesn't add the $25 when he doesn't need the ego boost.

Exactly. People think that just because he doesn't shout out the tip enthusiastically, it means the tip doesn't exist. You have to keep in mind that his $25 daily tithe comes early in the day (probably way before he starts streaming) or it's like Actually said, a prepaid weekly subscription to the Kingpig.

What all of that means? Well, when he's shouting out the tip, the money is already 100% gone. So he's thanking someone for money he already spent. That's why it seems that the tip is fake.

Respectfully disagree. Think it would have been better to fully embrace them and roll with jokes, but his ego couldn’t allow it. The lightbulb should have gone off in his head after so many of them popped up so fast. “Hmm, these videos are getting way more views than anything I’m putting out and they’re actually entertaining? Maybe I can make them work for me? ”

He could have worked out a deal with AJ, Chaff, Outsyder, and other TIHYDP makers to make stuff for him in exchange for a fee

. Could have hyped his streams too by letting viewers vote/suggest stuff to be included and making sure they can only be an hour or less long (sorry Outsyder). That way he can say stuff like “there’s a lot of funny/rage/fail moments that didn’t make the cut so watch the streams live so you don’t miss a thing.” But that would require him accepting that he’s a fucking joke.

This is (mostly) for DarksydeParalegal.

The idea that EvilAJ's original TIHYDP MGS2 is arguably not fair use because "all it did was shorten the running time of the playthrough with no criticism" is asinine. The case that Sargon of Akkad won against Akilah Obviously was about as analogous as it gets. Her claim was that Sargon's editing of her content alone was not sufficient, but the ruling determined that Sargon's editing was done in such a way that it was, in and of itself, the criticism/commentary.

By that same logic, Phil would have no leg to stand on against EvilAJ because the entire fucking point of his very first TIHYDP, as sparse as it was, was to edit his playthrough in a way that served as a critique of said playthrough. Thus (lol) it's commentary, and hence fair use.
