I used to watch her late last year / early this year before she switched models from this:

Can't really explain it, but i just lost interest in watching her from that. And it wouldn't even be so bad if she was alternating models, but it is the only one she has used for months.
And yes I can appreciate that people probably like the 'standard anime' style of model more than the one she had before, I just find the more 'experimental' models with different artstyles way more appealing.

Same situation with Pikamee for me by the way, although she atleast uses her old models from time to time over her 'isekai-pikamee' model.

Kson's 'twitch' model falls in the same vein, she seems to alternate it a bit as well tho.

So if any of you have recommendations for vtubers with cool-looking models please let me know, i'll stick to the unoffensive Holo / Niji style until then.

You're not the only one. My guess is unlike real life streamers where its mostly the personality / content that's the draw (excluding titty streamers) vtubers are a combination of content / personality and the vtuber model. Vtubers switching their model every few months to completely different styles throws me off and makes it hard for me to get invested in their streams.

I used to like Snuffy and GirlDM partly because their 3D models were so well done and expressive but Snuffy started going overboard with the coomer pandering and the neon bright colors you see on every shitty furry "OC do not steal™" character combined with her switching models every other week it feels like.

As for GirlDM her 2D model feels so stiff compared to her 3D model and the art style feels drastically different

Not sure what exactly constitutes a 'cool-looking' model to you, but I find ZonBko's model pretty endearing. Very nice voice, comfy streams - chatting/doodling, fully JP though.

She just started playing Cult Of The Lamb. The VOD seems to be only available on her YT archive channel and is only 360p - hopefully just a YT processing issue.

Didn't see it mentioned here, but Kaela celebrated 400k by showing her voice range. She pretended to be her little sister "Ckia" and did a high-pitched cutesy voice the entire stream, very different from her usual voice.

Excuse me, I didn't mean to contradict you, only to point out an amusing resemblance. Anime characters with this sleepy/disheveled look aren't super common so I wouldn't call Grimmi or Tomoko "generically anime looking" either.

After looking it up, I can really see that. Might give the manga a read, I really liked the anime adaptation - the ghosts designs were pretty neat, especially the miko shrine spirits.

It looks like it's a mix of everything, to be honest. There has already been a whole ordeal of vox antis spreading mistranslated clips on bilibili and this just added fuel to the fire, so I wouldn't be surprised if antis and trolls decided to make a big ruckus out of this.

The clip of Sonny saying it was a joke and that if he was angry or upset then he'd deal with it and that fans should stay out of it is circulating and people are spreading that now. There are still some upset that he called Sonny's mom a whore at all and are saying that it doesn't matter if there is a "cultural difference" because the remark was still rude. A lot of the people upset want him to apologize, but I don't really see the need to. Maybe I'm wrong and this will be his downfall, but this just seems like such a little thing to be upset over. The Hot-ass TrhustingMaster seems like a pretty hard controller to use for AceCombat. She kinda sucks at it but overall it was a fun stream. Shiina is like Pippa in that she can have a stream where she just talks about random shit and she is still fun to watch and interact with.

I feel like marshmallows are pretty easy to abuse because most EN fans don't really know they exist. So a few haters can appear really prominent.

Well, Fishman should be pretty happy it looks like Gen2 is success at this point, all of Gen2 has passed the 10k subscriber milestone, the last was Rie late last night early this morning.



I was going to go numbernigger, but I just throw out some general statements. Overall they are all building viewer bases, some in previously untapped time slots like Erina with her late US timed streams, or underused time slots like Shiina and her earlier streaming slot. Panko's usual slot has kept her out of collabs, but being earlier in the day seems to be bearing fruit for her even though she is often streaming during Tenma's streams. It's nice to see that Airi is succeeding in building her own viewer base despite having to stream in the same time slots as PIppa due her IRL work schedule, she's putting in a lot of work and it's showing. Remi's bouncing around and time wise is annoying, she really needs to settle down pick a time slot and stick with it (except for collabs). Rie is growing despite being mostly off line this month.

IMHO, if there is one thing that Gen2 is doing that is actually slowing their growth is their production of free content (twitter spaces) and putting too much time into discord. The ones that have hosted a lot of twitter spaces have the slowest growth, Airi be the exception, but she more than makes up for that with streams which results in lack of sleep. The upside of those is that it tightens the link between them and their existing viewers (increasing the likelihood of donations and donation amounts), but it doesn't grow their channels and would likely be time better used to rest and/prep other steaming content or produced VODs. I can see Rie having to do that due to not streaming much this month, and Remi doing so to tighten up those bonds and produce material not appropriate for Youtube, due to focusing on a GFE. But the rest of them really need to focus on channel growth on Youtube and Twitch if they wish to get to the point where they have a decent income from their Vtubing.

My main problem/concern with Phase is that a really large group of the viewers jump from talent to talent. So while there is brand loyalty, they should probably start looking to target new niche audiences or to look into pulling viewers from Holo/Niji/Vshojo.

I enjoy it whenever Pippa changes her colors up. I also enjoy Lumi having about 3 different models (all which are fairly similar) but if they are super different I don't like them.
