Battletech - Also known as Trannytech

If you guys are looking up to pick up HBS Battletech and all the expansion this is completely solid for 12 dollars.

6 Games for 12 bucks
Heads up to everyone but the charity money is headed to abortion groups. Better adjust that slider down to zero if you don't want to support those fuckers.

Yeah, I went and double-checked stuff on Sarna, and the first conflict was during the Age of War before the BattleMech was invented or even the signing of the Ares Conventions, and while horrific and bloody due to the use of strategic weapons, was restricted to the border regions quite unlike the horrors of the Reunification War. Even when it blew up from a border skirmish into the Rim War it was still just a border conflict. Nothing like what the AFFS and SLDF would do to the Taurians or continue to do.
As if the Taurians would fight fair anyway. Besides the Outworlds Alliance the only nation to not sign the Ares Convention and when the Jihad broke out smuggled WMD to their "freedom fighters" and then act shocked when their opponents (in this case the Ropughriders) decides to give them a taste of their own medicine. Also usually the Fedsuns don't raze bases with fleeing dependents to the ground. That alone turned the Roughriders into the worst nightmare the Taurians faced during the Jihad (especially the "nuke a Taurian planet in your neighbourhood" phase when the Roughriders rampaged through Taurian space)

And fun fact about the Trinity Alliance: the Magestrix of the Magistracy wanted the Concordat in it so that her realm doesn't have to bear the brunt of Capellan demands (sending troops as substituers for Capellan soldiers to Operation Bulldog, using Canopian soldiers as cannon fodder for the Chaos March reclamation tour). Jeffrey Calderon was smart enough to see through that but Shraplen let his paranoia blind him and so the Conordat bled out while the other two nations thrived. Case in point: Detroit. That planet had a shiny new Mech factory build by all three nations and who had it in the end: the Magistracy (well until it was gifted to the Confederation)

Here's my current Steiner mechs. Newest ones from the last time I showed them are the Razorback, the Wolfhound, the Bushwacker, the Griffin, the Warhammer, the unseen Marauder, and the Viking. And sorry if the picture is massive as I'm on my phone right now.

That fucking Archer still brings a smile to my face.

I feel the large white areas (the gun on the Hunchback, the arm pods on the Marauder, etc) could do with a little drybrushing for definition if you've got the gear for it. The color scheme looks great but those big flat white parts stand too much, at least on camera.

Didn't the Cappies wage war against them?
Pretty sure they gassed them.

Also, in MWO would I be best served by having the 2 LB20X’s on my dire wolf mounted arm and torso or having one in each arm and putting uac20 in the left arm? I’m not sure how much convergance matters with a goddamn shotgun but I’d certainly be wasting less ammo if I have to peek.

Edit: Never mind. I don’t have enough slots in the torso.

The camera may not pick it up, but the white has some blue in it as it's P3's Frostbite. Up close, I find it blends in quite well with the Prussian Blue.

I don't have any dry brush supplies, but I'll keep the suggestion in mind

Also, I really need to get something to style up the bases. Keep thinking of going for a tundra theme, but I've been working too much lately to browse my LGS
Makeup brushes, Golden Acrylic molding paste or Army painter snow

You can find the STL file on myminifactory.

As for the white areas, @StevieLasVegas said that it got a somewhat blue-ish hue, but what I did with my DC 1st Ghost Regiment units was a coat of Corax White from a rattle can and then some Apothecary White contrast paint to act as a subtle pinwash. I can highly recommend that to add a bit of detail and plasticity, without taking away too much from the desired effect of a white and bright paint-scheme.

As for bases, I use spackling paste, it works well as a glue, believe it or not, and it can be neatly formed into whatever shape you want (I do recommend sculpting tools, though. I used bits of cardboard and toothpicks and thought it was alright, then used sculpting tools, and felt like a caveman after realizing how much easier it is to use propper tools).

Stop plz stop painting.
There are a few mechs that do make it a bit of a guessing game of "where the fuck is the cockpit on this thing?" like the old IWM Crab mini.
And then there's mechs like the Guillotine or Longbow, that carry something ontop that looks like the cockpit but isn't.

Little wonder some people just slap it on whereever they want. Would not put it past a few especially crazy MechTechs to do the same with salvaged mechs, when the fitting spare parts are unavailable.
