Hey, its the "ack ack ack ack"ing, I thought he never does that and that it's just a detractor meme, was he lying, say it ain't so. And it wasn't "a handful of matches", there were enough matches for nearly 3 hours. And he then went on to repeat it in the 30th anniversary version as well. And those videos are still on YT for you to watch on your tv.

And funny thing, by his own reasoning, he was never successful at super turbo. He never won a tournament on the original arcade version like he wants you to believe he did. His wins came from tournaments that used console ports that were different enough from the original that they don't document them as just "super turbo" and his 4th place was a port so bad that no respected player took part. I'd dare him to ever acknowledge that but it would mean devaluing his "accomplishments" even more than they don't mean.

Final Fantasy 6 has one protagonist, and you better not tell Kat (because you're married), but it's Terra. Everything in FF6 is Terra and her being a half-esper, everyone else is window dressing and to help give life to the world; whether it's prince brothers who settled succession with a coin toss, a traitor general, a knight losing everything he knows to poison, etc. As interesting as those characters and their stories are; FF6 is about Espers and Terra. Fucking kill yourself.

In the nearly 2 decades of phil's entire known internet history, from now all the way back to the earliest fgc forum posts I don't recall him once genuinely apologizing or acknowledging a fault.

He has plenty of 'apologies' sure but there always is an absurdly obvious ulterior motive. Like diverting blame for current douchiness by pointing out how he's changed from past douchiness. And of course the classic criticizing others while making it about him.

The closest I've seen him ever get is calling his past racist comnents out for being insensitive, but he completely ruins that by trying to get away with making them now.

This is exactly why he never gets anywhere. He never means to move on, he never truly admits to his wrongdoing. He always has an out that lets him escape some of the burden. He always tries to have it both ways. He was acting, so you don't get to call him an asshole, and you're totally a moron for not knowing. It's clear what he wants, and people rightfully refuse to give it to him.

I personally enjoy that he is too retarded and drunk to stick to one story and keeps pulling whatever out of his ass that he thinks makes him look the best in that moment. This new story arc that everything was just an act and only morons didnt get it really flies in the face of his previous excuses about his behaviors.

Which is both good and bad. From a normal perspective, not his. Good, because Phil hurts when he gets less, since he has no good priorities. The money must flow, and HIGH, for him to get anywhere near "happy", which only lasts until the money disappears into Champions.

Bad, because it's not a sign of things coming to an end. The dents don't care about, which ensures that his enjoyment only reaches so high, but prevents him from crashing. At least until certain issues finally catch up with him.

So do I, though I keep in the back of my mind that, thanks to his lifestyle, disaster is inevitable, and could be ugly enough that I won't want to watch. The dents can't save Phil from alcohol abuse, a heart attack, a stroke, or owing so much per month in taxes that he can't play Champions anymore, and crosses a line when he takes it out on them.

I don't know if you all remember but Phil couple years ago used to make a lot more money from his marathons. But I suppose back then marathons weren't weekly things. His desperation only grows with his addictions.
