If the “murder-suicide of Byuu” that didn’t actually happen last year wasn’t able to do anything, why would you or anyone else think that some nobody letting people get under their skin and claiming it’s some sort of terrorism will?

All of this is no one’s fault but his own. If you live online, you need to be prepared to be held accountable for what you put out there, and if you do dumb shit, don’t be surprised when people call you dumb for it. If you react to the criticism with ridiculous behavior, don’t be surprised if people keep pushing. He could have removed himself from the situation before it exploded, but it’s his reaction and nothing else that has kept it growing, like fanning a fire and then complaining that it’s grown too large. He would have faded out quickly and most would have forgotten his name, but now it’s certainly cemented for no reason other than he couldn’t get off the internet for five minutes.
