I don't really care about doxing but I agree with you. It's weird seeing people in this thread counter the hysteria on twitter with "actually KF is doing good via tough love" the reality is none of this shit makes a difference, it's all misplaced self-importance. There should be a website where people can discuss pragmatic approaches to issues that would normally get jannied on sites like reddit and twitter, but Kiwi Farms isn't it. All these people on twitter saying KF is JK Rowling and Dave Chappelle's fanatical Blackwater-Mossad-Sardaukar jihadist terror squad are just lying to make it seem like all their arm flailing isn't over nothing.I agree, I think KFers have too high expectations for lolcows. Example. My trans acquaintances IRL had severely disturbed early childhoods. One of them was neglected and physically abused from birth by a post-partum-psychotic mother. The other was a head-banging autistic baby who didn't speak for several years. And these are people who are able to keep their craziness somewhat under wraps. If someone's gotten to the point of being noticed here, it's just unrealistic to expect them to act respectably unless they get intensive, high-quality psychological care that they're highly unlikely to get under the prevailing harm-reduction/de-stigmatisation model of mental health. Likely their whole family and/or friend group is fucked up. You can't fix that problem with shaming.
I'm also against doxing except in cases of animal and child abuse and I think KF should ban doxing except in those cases.
But unfortunately this is unlikely to happen as long as KF is the major underground escape valve for rat's nest of institutional obfuscation, misdirection, and enforced ignorance surrounding trans, autism, and abnormal sexuality in general.
There needs to be some kind of public disclosure of the body of fairly explosive knowledge about abnormal psychology that can be gleaned from KiwiFarms' large number of case studies. Research and public health communications are supposed to do this while protecting individuals' privacy and dignity. But as long as they're not doing it, KF will be the result.
KF is on the whole a tragic indictment of the harm-reduction and de-stigmatisation model of public health. Instead of actually fixing these people like they're supposed to, the 'customer is always right' private sector and the 'cut costs any way possible' public sector collude to 'solve' the problem by gaslighting the rest of us.
They fix them like animals get fixed at the vet. They dehumanise them, then expect the rest of us to clap as if we're too stupid to see that we're next.
What a total fucking shitshow.
KF isn't a political party, represents no special interest groups, does no lobbying of any kind, doesn't receive money from shady donors, but none of that matters because as you pointed out this whole scheme relies on not allowing anyone to even see other people thinking differently.
