This was already true 20 years ago. If you got a BS in engineering and did zero internships, good luck getting hired.

At least for IT. Theres a whole lot of "they didnt actually teach you anything usable" that gets discovered. So why put college as a requirement for the internship at all is the billion dollar question?

A dud with an engineering degree is a still a dud. Half of my friends from school are 'engineers' and I out earn them with a degree in the humanities and a job in Sales. While there were many genuine, dedicated students that came from the STEM programs, there were many (often foreign) students who cheated their way to passing, as well.

-ish. The unions got in trouble because they were "racist", and they proved it by pointing out that the workforce of a particular shop was almost entirely Irish or Italians. Which was true, but it was mainly for nepotisim instead pure racism.

Its why the IT tends not to get in trouble with their certifications. Its not test you have to take for a job. Its just a 3rd party company saying whether you can do a thing, in the same way a college works.

Looks like Biden made the student loan announcement. Its gonna be 20 grand (maybe) not just 10 for alot of people.

How the 20 grand eligibility works is pretty vague right now.

I dont understand how the pell thing is supposed to work. Like if you got pell for undergrad degree then took loans for grad school do you get 10 or 20? Do they mean "you got pell plus took a loan" out same semester? This is pretty clearly them realizing 10 wasnt enough gibs. But grad school types that make up their activist class dont get pell for grad school.

Sense this is buying votes im assuming most generous interpretation will win. But who knows?

Can someone break it down barney style to what the loan forgiveness shit means?

Would taking forgiveness royally fuck someone over 10 ways to sunday (I already know it fucks over every tax payer) over a period of time. Is it even worth applying for if you have under 10k worth in loans?

It is not gonna be 20 grand for most people. That is just for Pell grants. Every other loan will get 10,000 forgiven which is what the majority of Americans have.

It is also going to cost around 300 billon.
