1) Keffals and those of his ilk really do want to compel silence in the utterance of falsehoods, such as he was born a man and will always be born a man, so on and so forth.

2) Uttering truths to these people is, in their sick twisted minds, akin to ruining their lives. That is because they are a group of people who delude themselves and are in fact at war with themselves, and being subjected to hard truths just puts too much pressure on their frail psyches.
