This is a multi thousand year old game.
For those ignorant of the finer details of the roman empires fall. There were multiple city-states and regions that began to beg Greater Rome for more control. The idea of The Republic was a beautiful one, but ultimately a human idea. It is flawed as bureaucracy begets bureaucracy. We the people will do what we have always done, realizing "we can do without you."
We will devolve back to monkey and flag wave, we will send up smoke signals, we will gossip in back rooms like school girls (just like we did with grindhouse movies in the VHS age).
The alternate is we will move forward and use new technologies as they come out and bypass the current restrictions entirely. It's not going to change anything. KF can go down tonight and a vast majority of you will ban together in some dark recess for a time licking your wounds. You will eventually crawl through the muck into some other structure to continue what you love doing. Keffals can not stop this. It is human nature.
