Mega Rad Gun Thread

Krinkov will never be what it's actually called, deal with it.

AK rears are more than sturdy enough to take a couple bolts through the rear of the receiver for a stock or brace, I've done it enough times.

Which would be better on a budget?

20 inch Colt upper or 20 inch PSA premium upper.

A regular 20 inch and not the free float versions.
Why not freefloat?

...at this point I'd fucking honestly say PSA premium. The CHF barrels are known good and who the fuck knows what the Colt factory's like during the bankruptcy/takeover. And the barrel's the majority of 'upper quality' outside the BCG.

Well I like that nostalgia look lol.

But is there like a notable difference that can be observed for free floats?

Depends what you're doing. Shooting off shoulder from the usual stance, nah, not really. Shooting supported especially in competition? Yes. The 'classic look' is a fine enough reason.

Seconding this, the only downside is autism making you notice the handguard isn't lined up 100%.
I'd say build one, but I'm biased. It's a pretty straightforward process and the tools are either cheap or stuff you probably already have.

Well the biggest issue for me, is the barrel nut.

Since I don't have the kind of strong vise or the table to bolt the vise for now, to tighten with that torque stuff lol.

Just hold the upper between your thighs and crank down with some vice grips it should work perfectly fine and not fail miserably also please post video of you doing this so everyone sees how successful it is

I've been reading on HKPro that apparently the CAI AP5 (MKE MP5 imports from Turkey) are having a ton of issues. Lots of people posting threads about their $1500 gun fucking up on the first range trip.

How is it statistically possible for CAI to fuck up this much for so long and still be in business?

Because gun owners are even worse than gamers when it comes to learning their lesson after they've been burned.

'Ooh, MP5! Oh, it's not a genuine MP5... But it's made on original machinery! In Turkey... And quality checks after importation performed by Century... meaning not at all. But MP5!'

In seriousness, their WASR-10 imports are solid, and have probably been the main thing propping them up for years, now.

Yeah. If you dangle 'cheap MP5', also there will be enough people who WANT HK GUN CHEAP and haven't heard of CAI somehow.

I gotta say that my MKE Zenith MP5 has been flawless but then again the smiths at Zenith aren't actual retards.

People who buy Century guns or turkshit are retards, people who buy both and expect them to be good, reliable guns are Chris Chan tier delusional retards. I've seen people buy Caniks that immediately broke firing pins within their first range trip and we've all heard stories about the ammunition quality roaches put out among other things.

Ap5 issues do sadden me a little. HK53s are the best looking roller guns and it was announced Century was considering restarting their importation.
