Binging With Babish - AKA How Would This Taste IRL

Is there some unwritten law that every dish needs a Mexican spin to look exotic enough? Shouldn't the review have a middle Eastern variant of the soup (at least I'm guessing from the few things I heard about Moon Knight)?
Also the presenter for the anime foods has negative charisma since his videos are unwatchable.

New episode of Soy Boys and I want to ask, is losing 50Kg in a year is a good goal goal mark for deathfats? I also kinda doubt the guy work outs rather than just eating smaller chunks.

It's not... excellent. Especially given that deathfat fat will simply fly off if you really put in the effort. Fat loss gets easier the bigger you are, but any progress is good for an addict.

But yeah, Soy Boys is fucking WEIRD to see on this channel. Instead of the usual smooth, easy-to-consume while you eat your breakfast, jazzy food clickbait, you get a deathfat who talks about how his doctor's given him months to live if he doesn't cut the hamburgers.

Actually, hasn't Babish had like, cancer patients on? He also tried a "Body by Babish" series but you know ain't nobody clicking that. Dude's tried to branch out into weird charity and self-help directions, but I'm happy it's not working.

btw if you guys do not have SponsorBlock added to your browser, sometimes I will see an entire 3 minutes cut out of his videos where he's just talking about a sponsored espresso maker and "reminding" you to click the like button and the bell. Here you go:

Name: Joshua K Weissman
Address: 6105 Westview Dr. Houston, TX 77055
Phone Number (Wireless): (281) 758-0242

found his address because I find him insufferable (you can easily find this in public records lmao. he had to use his real name)
I fucking hated his baby-talk and constant shots of his ass, but the last straw for me was when he filmed himself at a George Floyd rally. I need a list of youtube cooking shows that did not bring up George Floyd, please, I will be so grateful. I'll start: Chinese Cooking Demystified

Also, thoughts on this guy everybody?

At first when this guy first started to get his brand off the ground, I was into it. It was straightforward, entertaining cooking videos. Some of the recipes even seemed to be doable at home without little to no issues. Then Babish turned into a soy-guzzling pretentious prick whom I started to give less of a fuck about. He made this shit, and that's when I really started to drop my viewership with him less and less until it just became too much. Nothing about him ever screamed "home chef", and that's what really bothered me at the end of it all. His popularity really isn't all that deserved.

Found someone called Ethan Chlebowski who has appeared on Babbish's show before. Found some of his content pretty good, especially his cacio e pepe video where he goes through the science of why that dish traditionally is a nightmare to make, and how restaurants do it to make a consistent sauce. I have tried this method and it's good.

Find a lot of these popular cooking youtubers to become very smug and pretentious over time.

Fuck Babish, Ethan, Weissman, all of those "big name" guys. I think they're all pretentious and are capitalizing on knowledge they technically don't even have. They aren't professional chefs and I'm tired of home cooks with no professional experience getting "big" in the cooking industry because enough millions of idiots decided to subscribe to a Youtube channel. The only channel I can think of that isn't that way despite her enormous following is EmmyMade (also known as EmmyMadeInJapan). She keeps everything simple/stupid and doesn't make herself out to be this bigger person, unlike Babish and all the other faggots. Emmy at least didn't selfishly and pridefully put out her own knife set, unlike bald soy boy here.

He's a reddit chef. Need I say more.
Some of his recipies are handy to have but those are the ones from like, pre-2017 or so.

That's the shit I'm talking about! "My fan has West-Nile-AIDS or whatever and here's how I'm giving back."

If you watch some of their less edited episodes, Babish really gives off a weird energy. It reminds me a lot of Ethan Klein, and it makes sense that he started this show in a burst of depressive break-up energy because it was also depression that fueled Klein's sense of humor. Once they find success, they are unable to just crank out the content their fans want, and instead start to desperately branch out in an attempt to stay relevant. Babish at least brought on people that are good at replicating his formula, and that's why I still watch his show (though I never make his recipes).

That guy is really interesting because he's a recovering fatty. A lot of his videos seem to be him trying to satisfy his addict tastebuds while keeping calories down. I like his recipes and the food science, but the "here's what I did today" videos weird me out, and I hate his brother because he has no camera presence and looks like a hostage.

Christ, I'm looking forward to an actual meltdown from Babish any time soon ala Linus Tech Tips.
Please you tell me where I can view Linus' meltdown please!

Speaking of Weissman, he did a really sad Texas Brisket
We really need a youtube cooking show thunderdome thread where we can either recommend videos we like, or shit on the ones we hate. Maybe I'll make it later!

This dude going after my girl Aunt Jemima was the LAST STRAW! UNSUSCRIBED. BLOCKED. (0:57)

How is Aunt Jemima offensively "named"? There was screeching about the black woman and they capitulated on that. She's been gone from the branding for well over a year. Even with the very long reach of the ancient supposed context, that lingo hasn't been relevant in decades. And the image subtracted from the name makes that meaningless anyway.

Please you tell me where I can view Linus' meltdown please!

It's more of a pattern recognition, the use of "meltdown" being a gradual lolcow behavior that hadn't warranted a separate thread in the actual Internet Famous section of the forum yet. I expect Babish to be the type to dismiss feedback on quality control.

You can find more about Linus in Off-Topic at Internet & Technology.

There's a new Soy Boys video and I wonder why not have things like chicken fillet rather than endless chunks of processed tofu blocks.
Also, looking at what the deathfat makes, he won't get thinner in any way if he chomps down an entire block of tofu plus vegetables. Really if he worked out the amount of time he supposedly waste on cooking, he'd probably be in better shape.
