CloudFlare wants to sound noble that they learned from canceling services to DS but the reality is that there is no way for them to argue that they are unaware that booting customers serves only one purpose: to open them up to DDoS attacks.

If they host the content themselves that's another matter, but if all you are doing is reverse proxying traffic from the real host and your whole sales pitch as a company is DDoS protection, then any customer that you get rid of can potentially sue you as central party in a CFAA lawsuit.


And California is notoriously broad and accepting of novel legal interpretations. If just one customer succeeds with a claim like this, that can spell the demise of CloudFlare.
