and he seemed like a better person than he is
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
Sorry. You obviously ditched that thought and expecting growth isn't that extraordinary. I highly doubt there's a single kiwibird in this subforum who has not at least considered that DSP may be capable of turning some angles and at least take an
attempt to better himself. He could at least try, but he can't even do
that. His "attempt" of change is to tell his critics that THEY have to change, just leave him alone for a year and apologize. This isn't fucking how this works.
I mean expecting growth is natural, even when we're talking about Dave because change and improvement is human nature, we don't just get more mature by looking at a clock and counting organic cellular divisions, but apparently this is Phil's hope. He waits and
hopes for the best (and the vest). He did say he got wiser and more mature, when all he does is TELLING you how much he changed and how unfair it is when he can't say racist sexist stuff anymore. Again, this isn't change. Change has to come with the ability to self-reflect and therefore detect flaws and start working on them. And shouldn't this be pretty easy if you have an entire community deticated to pointing out your misbehaviors?!
Facing this wall of criticism which gets ignored or twisted and after the hundredth "I did nothing wrong" even the most dense crackhead can rub two brain-cells together and conclude that DSP is literally unable to change. DSP can't work on flaws, because the cool strong kids don't have flaws, so narcissistic pretend of might and knowledge it is. And he doesn't even understand how this makes him look especially pathetic. But at least nobody will notice if nobody starts to think about it. So glad his sincere and honest audience is so easily manipulable, the perfect fit.
Phil lags the necessary changes in his life to adapt to. I still admit that young-Phil had the capacity for ideas and changes (even if they're lazy and stupid and often you have to drag him by the remaining hair to make him lift a finger), my hope didn't come from nowhere. Those were just surface level adapts, but he also had friends and talked to people. He went to conventions, talked to open crowds, appeared on photos, also remember the entire Street Fighter era where he filmed illegally and proposed to take over the tournament. 100% incredibly antisocial and intolerable, but he DID something, there was a
dynamic in his life (and every minute was used to shit on people in jealousy and rage). He met real living people and interacted with them in real time before he ran away like a superfluid. The potential was right there if you squint really hard.
Now, modern era DSP, has all the excuses in the textbook to never ever interact with anyone ever again and be as lazy as humanly possible. He's a tired old man, yelling at clouds, and getting more ridiculous by the week. And his biggest adaptation so far was to clean a closet. Cool, there's not a single target audience for this shit.
And surface level changes don't improve the person anyway, he was always the exact same personality and this is quite honestly shocking.
Yes I absolutely get why modern era DSP looks even more boring than DSP just one or two years ago, why he falls into oblivion and kills the tiny rest of expectation that might float around. 2022 DSP is awful and there's still no bedrock in sight. If anything he's now more transparent than ever why he deserves not a single sincere fan.
But I do get the fascination for trainwrecks.
