It’s been this way for years and years. Anything which can be spun to benefit a certain group is immediately done so in the publications which support them and it is done so without fact-checking or analysis so consumers of said “news” will become further lionized so groups can better justify asking them for money. That’s all this is and all it’s ever been, is a giant machine built and run and maintained to bleed money from people who to an extent genuinely care and want to help.
