I understand that selective dyslexia is a thing
The IAEA team, which crossed the frontline into Russian-held territory, was delayed several hours by shelling near the site of the plant.

"This morning the situation was pretty difficult but ... having come this far, I was not going to stop," said Grossi.
When you post the full quote from your article, they heard the gunfire not at the plant but in the frontline crossing. You just had to post the sentence before the quote for context.
"This morning the situation was pretty difficult but as I said, having come this far, I was not going to stop, and with my courageous team we moved in," Mr Grossi said.
EDIT: literal fucking video of the "we've come this far, we're not stopping" interview with a Ukrainian soldier next to Grossi

They had not crossed into no man's land yet, let alone entered the plant.

So is the tl&dr; that the Ukies tried to take Kherson back, it didn't really work, and they're back to the same general stalemate they were at before?
Man I wish whatever negotiated peace could happen just to stop wasting everyone's time.
Provided it doesn't spiral out of control into a world war, there are literally only two ways this conflict can go.

The first is Ukraine burning through and exhausting all of the foreign resources they have at their disposal and not being able to be sustained with more, before promptly collapsing and capitulating, subjected to whatever terms that will probably cause them to cede more land and resources.

The second is a majorly bad event happening, like a nuclear crisis, and Ukraine/Russia agreeing to a truce (or the whole thing escalating). Everyone goes home, whether as people, or in radioactive pieces.

Even if the Ukrainian military learn to conserve what they have instead of tossing it all away, NATO countries won't be able to keep up with demand, and they'll run out sooner or later. They can't make more. Not when we're going to be starving and freezing our asses off this winter because we called Putler's bluff and have no other source of energy independence because we spent the last 30 years decommissioning all our nuclear plants. European citizens aren't going to be happy when they find out part of their increased living costs are going straight to an Eastern European meat grinder. They already aren't the happiest bunch with all the climate bollocks.

There is no way, outside of significantly more outside interference or the Russian government being wiped out overnight that Ukraine can win. They're trying to play chess using pieces loaned to them by other players, and replacing any pieces that get taken off the board with other replacements so that they can minimise the damage and defeat they would otherwise have suffered. The only reason they haven't had their shit totally pushed in is because the west has decided to go all-in on simping for the very same regime they were shitting on as a corrupt fascist state filled with Nazis 2 - 3 years ago. All the Ukrainians have been able to muster are quick, shock attacks that circulate the news cycle for a couple days, or scorched-earth assaults that kill as many Ukrainian citizens as it does Russian soldiers when they aren't broadcasting to the media with Ghost of Kiev-tier bullshit propaganda. They have not been able to hold onto any territory the Russians didn't fully retreat from, and have spent the best part of the last 3 - 4 months consistently "strategically regrouping" to further westward strongholds.

If the conditions of the conflict do not significantly change, Russia will inevitably get what they want, whether that's 5 days, 5 weeks, 5 months or 5 years from now. And when that happens, anyone who believes otherwise will get the SNEED'ing of a lifetime once it does.

Some butt-puckering footage.

This last line made lol:
There is no need to worry, all the cats who voluntarily surrendered their weapons and came under the control of Russia are fed and combed.
I have many war cats to post in response to spergeration, so YSYL.

Again, the raid group never actually made it to the plant, they got destroyed while approaching it, so that checks out. They also specify they heard machineguns and mortars, not just shelling. That means the fighting was close.

Not sure why you picked this specific Ukie blunder as a hill to die on, but okay.

The work of the IAEA mission at the Zaporozhye NPP.

These videos show the process of inspecting the damage caused by the AFU. The mission drew attention to the Ukrainian rocket, which is located on the territory of the spent fuel burial site, as well as to the hydrogen pipeline damaged during the shelling.

So they got fucking killed in the Ukrainian-controlled city of Zaporizhzhia, and somehow the barge floated into Enerhodar?
zhzh.jpg
How did they hear the raid from 30 miles away? If you have the location of that building Grossi was standing in front of we could assess the actual distance.

That blue tape meant to differentiate between the live rounds and the blanks?
Blue duct tape is more resistant to solar ultraviolet radiation and breaks down more slowly than more colored tape. Therefore, darker duct tapes are popular—black, gray, and blue duct tapes. The blue one is popular in Russia in particular.

That ABC News article clearly says that Grossi gave that statement to reporters AFTER they came back to Ukrainian territory, not before.
"We are not going anywhere. The IAEA is now there, it is at the plant and it is not moving — it's going to stay there," IAEA head Rafael Grossi, who personally led the mission, told reporters after returning to Ukrainian-held territory.

They heard gunshots in the morning, but only entered the plant in the afternoon. In the morning they were still at Zaporizhzhia.
Believe what you want to believe.

Yes, the raid started around 5am local time according to all the sources I've seen. That is very much the morning. Again, checks out.

Russian forces finish off a T-64BV abandoned by the AFU with a grenade down the hatch.

And they were giving the interviews at Zaporizhzhia, before heading to the gray zone, with the sun well up in the sky.
So how did they hear the raid from (presumably) 30 miles away?

Again, your own source said that they gave the interview after coming back to Ukrainian territory, so that would make it late in the afternoon.

Then they heard the raid in the morning as they were making their way through Russian territory, and the raid delayed their arrival to the plant, so they got there at 2pm.

Makes sense?

There was an interview before and after. The video I posted was the "we're going in" quote. The articles written reflect interviews given in the morning and after Grossi returned.
We're definitely shitting up the threat with a discussion on the timeline. How about that barge?
tugboat.jpg
Those barges need a tug boat. If they need a boat to pull it, why not just use the boats for insertion?
