Weed absolutely is a gateway drug and almost certainly fucks with your brain development if you use it excessively as a teenager, and of course if you smoke it it comes with all the risks of repeatedly inhaling smoke into your lungs, but it’s definitely not addictive in the same way that many hard drugs are. The same way alcohol is, where your body develops a physical dependency on it and you literally cannot stop doing it without undergoing severe withdrawal effects.

At most it’s “addictive” in the same way as porn or gambling or social media. Which, don’t get me wrong, is still bad… but it’s not one of those things where stopping cold turkey literally has the potential to kill you.

Getting high daily, I agree with this completely. All of my friends who were doing this in high school are burnt the fuck out. I smoked weed once when I was 18 and then didn't pozload my neghole until I was almost 40. I don't wake up hung over anymore, my quality of life has improved by a noticeable amount because I'm able to get some quality sleep at night and just fucking relax.


I recommend all Kiwis over 30 to start smoking weed a little bit. Or get an edible. You'll be okay, enjoy a little bit of life.

Alcoholics are the ones I can't understand, maybe genetically, being drunk is like physical torture and alcohol mostly tastes like the poison that it is. Weed on the other hand actually tastes good and is mildly enjoyable.

Funny that. Weed makes me hypersensitive to sound and touch and intensely paranoid. It think it would be very mentally unhealthy for me to use regularly. Alcohol relaxes me. I knew a guy like you. No moral objections to alcohol. He just said alcohol made him feel queasy and disoriented, which was unpleasant to him, and it tasted like shit, due to the fact he avoided it.

People are different. Big surprise. One interesting thing. You know how alcohol is bad for Native Americans? I have a theory that marijuana has stronger negative effects on East Asians than other groups, just from my experience, whereas blacks should just be given a daily weed ration to keep them docile, because everything else just makes them worse.
