I just wanted to live in an age of prosperity slightly worse than what my parents did. My expectations were so fucking low but I still got a banana republic. Fuck.
The periods between declines and booms are shorter and shorter as time goes on. Just because the nation is dying doesn't mean that the idealized principles behind it are. Balkanization can save them and even strengthen them now that we know a bit more about the potential failure points.

I like how some people are genuinely shocked by this. Midwits actually seriously thought dozens of private companies all decided to enact identical censorship policies all on their own with no external guidance or pressure whatsoever?

Amerifats aren't very bright are they?
To be fair, it's not like it would've been out of character for them to do this autonomously. They're always walking in lockstep regardless of government intervention. I'm honestly more shocked that they appeared to push back at times.

Not shocked. We just now have irrefutable proof that they lied about it.

People in general, really. Easier to buy the repetition liberal nonsense slurpy than go against the grain in favor of truth. Just look at britbong land and their unexplained rate of 'youth' incidents.

I'm worried about them destroying of 230 instead of just punishing the companies that abused it, this site existence is owed to 230 after all
The extremely optimistic hope is that with this being explicitly a violation of a hard rule that the government cannot do this, with direct evidence of collusion to do exactly this, the SC will say "Well fuck it we can't trust any party in this to just act justly" and declare that the 1st amendment now applies to user content on websites. There's not really another way I see to go around this to prevent this fuckery from happening again.

We all knew it was happening behind the scenes

None of us expected weekly meetings. And we sure as shit didn't expect this to get out. This is the kind of shit you do over a round of golf once every 6 months, not in a zoom call.

Because the mindset of a bureaucrat is that if you followed procedure, you didn't do anything wrong and can't be punished. You can't fire federal employees without cause, but if the AG is giving you a fig leaf of cause, it makes it that much easier.
One, yes you can fire them without cause. The FBI fairly explicitly has it in their contracts. Ironically, it is easier than giving a reason. See McCabe for why they normally don't.

Second, no one involved is a stickler for the procedure in your proposed idea. Garland just massively violated it for the raid and the FBI brass considers regulations to be strongly worded suggestions at best.

Oh hey, look at this info leaked to Republican-aligned sources for a lawsuit, using internal communications from BigTech (specifically Facebook as the big one). And high up ones at that. Sure does make voters look less at BigTech itself and more at the government. Could totally try to use it to say "big daddy government made me do it"....

Good for Julie Kelly doing all this, she's one of the few good ones. 20/20 hindsight and all, he should have pardoned the people before he left, but at the time it looked like it was more violent than it was for some of them. And if he did pardon them you know Mitch the Bitch would have told enough senators to vote to convict him for impeachment. Time has shown it to be probably 10 people who actually did bad things, and were probably glowies themselves.
A lot of people who say Trump should have pardoned the J6 people seem to forget that. It was a mess of information for weeks after. By the time it was clear that nobody had -done- anything, Biden was already in office.

Y'know that photo of MAL that was spreading around twitter last few days?

View attachment 3667734

This one? The one they submitted to the court as a crime scene photo of Trump's MAL residence?

Staged. They ripped docs out of Trump's secure storage to toss them around willy nilly on the desk AND THEN added documents and cover letters from their own archives to make it look worse. FBI documents have the red/yellow/brown cover sheets, White House documents do not. And if you look closely, the cover letters are paper clipped onto the documents which are stapled together.

They had to bring in fake confidential cover letters and props to make Trump look worse. They couldn't leave well enough alone.

Oh, and they shopped the fucking photo.

Extremely badly. (Proper handling would be to use post-it notes and similar stuff to block it out. This would allow for an undoctored photo.)

Is this why they frog marched the FBI guy in charge of this disaster earlier this week? Not only was it an illegal raid created by an out of control rogue AG with corrupt FBI agents working with him without permission, all for a fishing expedition that worse, failed to catch anything... They doctored evidence and faked a crime scene, then submitted this faked evidence to a court AND the press to try and make Trump look worse. They couldn't risk him looking bad enough, they had to go for the superhitler treatment, again.

@Gehenna, might this be what the Admin was fidgeting about coming out? Worried Trump would nail them with this?
And -just- when I am about to mea culpa a bad call, it's proven correct. God, I hate Clown World. Yes, this would -exactly- be it. Reminder, the feds -did not know- they were being videotaped. No way this line came out without them having hard evidence of it. Like the video. So yes, this is absolutely positively horrifically damning for the FBI.

When you think you're both untouchable and infinitely smarter than filthy CHUD plebs, you get sloppy with precautions.

Pride cometh before the fall

Its one thing to know its happening but another thing entirely to have actual proof.

Nah. It's taking pride in the wrong things. These retards thought they were masters of controlling information and prided themselves on that thought.
and then someone leaked the information

That's why Biden is declaring Jihad on all of us tonight. Any outrage over their fuckery, no matter how truthful, will be seen as a terrorist attack.

What fall? Republicans aren't going to do shit. The most you can expect is some brief tut tutting followed by "wow can you imagine the response if this situations was reversed?" Before they fuck off and start demanding tax cuts for woke mega corps again.

A lot of people think the reason Dems win is because they play dirty instead of the fact that Republicans are dangerously retarded and useless.

Anyone wanna bet they vastly overstep their boundaries and demand employers fire Trump voters or (to toss a bath tub full of gas onto the fire) start arresting anyone they want over "terrorist speech"?
Rate me Dumb or autistic, but with how open Biden is I can honestly see him going full Stasi.

You can always count on this regime to double down on being retarded.

On the eve of Midterms? I can't say it won't happen because the raid kinda makes anything -possible-, but I think any lingering remnants of the cabal in command would personally strangle whoever suggested that.

I can already see the spin.

"Stupid GOP doesn't realize that OF COURSE the FBI would be putting cover letters, because unlike DRUMPF they know how to handle classified SUPER SECRET documents"

"Of COURSE they whited out the documents in the photo they can't trust the COURTS to redact things, OBVIOUSLY NOT when half of them being SECRET DRUMPF SUPPORTERS."

"And yeah they took the documents out of his secure room and containers and tossed them around his desk to make it look like he was just leaving them out for anyone to see, and yeah they put a fake crime scene marker on the document like something out of a TV show, OF COURSE THEY DID, they had to GO THROUGH THE DOCUMENTS to know what CRIMES DRUMPF HAD COMITTED."

But yeah I had forgotten they didn't know they were being filmed. Oh boy, the video must be a complete clusterfuck. Imagine them just posing the documents just so, debating with each other how to best make them look bad for Trump, maybe some guy leaves, comes back with another box full of documents, adds them to the pile... They get a nice photo, everyone looks at it on the lead guy's cellphone, "HI5, WE GOT HIM!"

Expecting an organization that's clearly undergoing major internal culture changes to act exactly as it has historically is a bit silly in my opinion.

You can continue being blackpilled but it'd be like someone in Obama's era going "yes, I'm confident that the DNC will continue taking the workers' side over big corporations!" We're living through a transitional period.

I'm predicting a severe gaff if he didn't get a good nap today. Nothing too direct, but something along the lines of "Blah blah maga conservatives are an extremist threat to our democracy <award pause while he shits his pants> and you know... you know how we deal with t-terrorists right..."

We're living through a transitional period.
heh

Frankly, if this is in fact on the tapes and I do believe it has a high probability to be since the Gateway Pundit is kinda the go to for the Trump team to leak stuff to, then I can see why Trump hasn't released the tapes yet. So long as he has it the DOJ is impotent. They can hold the threat of inditing Trump over the nation but they can't actually -do- it without Trump then releasing the tape and taking all the wind out of their sails and nuking any possible hope the Democrats have for the midterms.
