As long as we're talking about chinesium tools for PC building: does anyone know what this thing is really called, and is there any non-chinesium version of it? I want a luxury... screw grabber thingy.

70 USD for that Chinesium racketing screwdriver, that's 329 PLN.

I could get either the full iFixIt set with all the additional tools or their big fuck off screwdriver and bits set for less than that. What a fucking ripoff.

For near as dammit the same price as the Linus Screw-em-driver ($79) you can buy this Wera set and have a decent selection of top quality bits and bonus sockets.

ask the keyboard thread
the claws are pretty commonly used for switches so they should have an answer

How often does one of the employees just tell Linus to shut the fuck up?
None, but I know Luke wants to.

As someone who did prototypes/injection molds for a large company; I am baffled why a Youtuber would be doing manufacturing from the ground up like this. I was under the impression he was outsourcing all this to an overseas manufacturer.

Even Snap-On gets smaller companies to manufacturer tools for them and they just put their logo on it. There are plenty of companies that just make screwdrivers. They have been making screwdrivers for years and know the pitfalls. They know screwdrivers really damn well...

It appears that he's just wrangled an injection molding company into picking up the assembly side of things right as parts come off the machine.

Most likely reason: Linus is a retard.

Most reasonable reason as to why Linus would do that: Do something with Creator House Inc in his LTT Store (the separate entity Linus made for tax reasons)

still retarded but it is the fairest reason I can think of

He could've just done a logo'd/themed screw/driver set. It's one thing to pretend you're an overbearing control freak; but unless you have some sort of handicap or have enough education to understand what every piece of metal in a ratchet does, I'm not gonna hold your OCD about how it holds or sounds in high regard.

Should've contacted iFixit and negotiated a sponsorship/branding deal or whatever. Turn their Blue to Orange, put an LTT logo on it, upcharge $50 or whatever and there's your fucking money; complete with iFixit holding the warranty bag.

I bet you they’re making shitloads more off the backpack, better to push that harder
MCM has just released a duffel bag for 69 dollarydoos (about $47 Freedom Bux). Sure, more materials and labour are probably required to make a backpack, but not 5x more. Marty and Moog aren't a charity, so I'm assuming they're making a profit on their bags that's enough to make it worthwhile.

Makes the LTT backpack's pricing look even more outrageous IMHO.
