I dunno, I remember watching my Father die the same. Never asked him to pay for chopping off my Willy with any money I could scrounge from his estate. I'd Like to think he could trust me with the continuation of our Decorated Line. His thoughts and my duty can always converge. Hard to say for Lucas.

EDIT: Maybe when were on out deathbed one day we won't care, just make them happy. Still disappointing.

That was me, and what you're saying is pretty much what will happen. Donations for an altruistic purpose like an emergency fund are not taxable income in Canada, nor are gifts. You don't get a tax receipt for donating to one and can't write it off on your taxes.

however

"Tip or gratuity as a component of employment" is taxable. So patreon income / tips, twitch donations, and donations through the keffals.gg whiteleaf site are all taxable income because those sites are how she earns employment income.

therefore

Because the dropkiwifarms website donation link asks people to go donate to her at the whiteleaf site, anything people donate to the campaign is hit by Canadian income tax as self-employment income, due to the dropkiwifarms campaign not being a separate organization registered as a charity.

She's only been doing the streaming gig for two years, and was collecting ODSP (disability) up until recently. I'm guessing she has never actually filed her taxes and has no clue about any of this, so is probably going to get completely fucked by a tax audit when the CRA sees a hundred thousand bucks going through her bank account out of nowhere.

pretty sure someone has mentioned this already but i would just like to remind everyone that the same keffals who is always going on and on about being doxxed and how kiwifarms stole all their personal information and what not has a donation tier on their patreon in which they will just give you their phone number. so really i think the lesson here is not that doxxing is bad but rather doxxing is bad if keffals is not getting money from it.
