These people think the internet hate machine consists of 4chan and Kiwifarms. I doubt these people can even fathom the thought that there are far worse websites out there. They live in a bubble.
It is like watching an upper class white kid from the suburbs go into the hood for the first time. They may think that it is just "the bad side of town" but they don't really get it.

We aren't even the cause of their problems, hilariously enough. We are actually pretty strict about no contact compared to other forums, hell we are strict on no contact compared to fucking twitter.

Right? The reason I've not been here much is because it's tame compared to most of the discussion boards I read. I just don't get my CWC fix anywhere else.

Yes. Cognitive dissonance works this way: If you have two beliefs that are absolutely contradictory, even if you subconsciously hold these beliefs or don't consciously realize they're contradictory, your mind literally breaks over it. In an ideal world your mind takes both beliefs and adjusts them for new information, but with leftists and other religious zealots they aren't ALLOWED to made adjustments to their beliefs to reflect observable reality. This prevents the initial repair function of the mind from engaging, which causes the stress -- and damage -- to the person suffering from the cognitive dissonance. In this situation, as part of a self defense system your brain will literally act out coping mechanisms to try and stop the damage. This includes discrediting any evidence that brings up the contradictory beliefs, ignoring the contradiction, special pleading, et cetera.

Scott Adams correctly pointed out that a lot of lefty idiots on twitter switch to this sarcastic sneering tone whenever they hear a talking point that violates their beliefs; this is because that talking point literally triggered cognitive dissonance, they are trying to deal with it and the smug dismissiveness is them attempting to slot the other information in a "to be ignored because wrongthink" bucket.

And of course, in the most extreme of cases, this means "kill the fucker who keeps bringing it up." They definitely would rather we just be silent, preferably forever, than accept that their deeply held belief might be wrong.

Men cannot become women. We know that, and on some level, the woke lefties know that. But they can NEVER admit it, because it's one of those little lies they can't admit to. And any and all evidence to the contrary is literally driving the left insane.

They also cannot begin to comprehend the fact there are people with "hate machine-like" opinions that have little to no online presence and merely carry their opinions in their head while walking around outside, living life.
