Only games I've kickstarted were Shovel Knight and Star Citizen, and I learned my lesson after SC.Hell, I Kickstarted this, I wish it'd just fuckin' release.
I've Kickstarted a few things and got burned every single time. The last one I did was Scorn.Only games I've kickstarted were Shovel Knight and Star Citizen, and I learned my lesson after SC.
Admittedly, my last kickstarter before the System Shock remake was HBS's Battletech. At least HBS delivered.Only games I've kickstarted were Shovel Knight and Star Citizen, and I learned my lesson after SC.
It's coming out soon, right @Derek Smart?Only games I've kickstarted were Shovel Knight and Star Citizen, and I learned my lesson after SC.
at least shovel knight managed to fly good out of the kickstarter. It's coming out soon, right @Derek Smart?
Shovel Knight and Grim Dawn are the two that come to my mind when I think of quality crowdfunded projects.at least shovel knight managed to fly good out of the kickstarter.
the other one? kek
I've never kickstarted anything, personally I feel like it's safest that way, you never get burned and 20 dollars isn't going to make a huge difference if something is going to get funded or not.Only games I've kickstarted were Shovel Knight and Star Citizen, and I learned my lesson after SC.
Sequel remake is even further away isn't it? I'm more excited for one personally because of how old the original is, 2 has some excellent mods and is new enough that it doesn't feel ancient to play.I'm honestly holding out more for System Shock 2. I don't even want them to remaster the voice acting/sounds the game just redo the models and engine cause god damn SS2 is one of the scarcest games I've every played just by sound alone.
Was it a remake or just a remaster for more modern computers/control schemes? with a title like "System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition" I was lead to believe it was just a simple upscaling textures and shitSequel remake is even further away isn't it? I could have sworn they were advertising a full remake at some point? There's been so much back and forth about it that I might be mixing it up with something else. Was it a remake or just a remaster for more modern computers/control schemes? with a title like "System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition" I was lead to believe it was just a simple upscaling textures and shit
To be honest SS2 doesn't need a full on remake like SS1, SS1 was DOS-Jank and a lot of people just can't comprehend that type of jankI could have sworn they were advertising a full remake at some point? There's been so much back and forth about it that I might be mixing it up with something else.
All I've read is that they were going to improve the textures and models a bit, but not much else. Or it was 1 remake + 2 enhanced AND THEN a 2 remake? I forgot. Was it a remake or just a remaster for more modern computers/control schemes? with a title like "System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition" I was lead to believe it was just a simple upscaling textures and shit

the remastered version that's already out cleans a lot of that up; you have proper mouse look and stuff now. Also it now runs under Windows natively instead of some shitty DOS emulationTo be honest SS2 doesn't need a full on remake like SS1, SS1 was DOS-Jank and a lot of people just can't comprehend that type of jank
I feel the same way, it doesn't really need one. If the visuals really bother you there are a few decent mods that touch it up. A full remake feels unnecessary, outside of a chance to maybe improve the ending. To be honest SS2 doesn't need a full on remake like SS1, SS1 was DOS-Jank and a lot of people just can't comprehend that type of jank
IIRC what he devs said about the SS2 remaster, they wanted to focus on the modding scene and multiplayer, but this was like 1-2 years ago when they said that. So take it with a grain of saltI feel the same way, it doesn't really need one. If the visuals really bother you there are a few decent mods that touch it up. looks extremely fucking gay, in the older game you don't get a monologue, it's straight up boss fight in that place called cyberspace with it's hellish controls, she taunts you while you are trying to make her cyberspace socket connectable with your usb cable *innuendo* *innuendo*.Still no word on the release but supposedly someone got access to the full game and posted the final SHODAN fight. Spoilers obviously.
