Questionable whether the substack author will see this but this blurb at the end stood out to me, and as a humble kiwi I felt the need to say something.
After reading the piece, It seems that the author is reasonable. I think the points made come from a grounded place.
I am pleasantly surprised by how this person states that they strongly dislike the farms, yet feels it shouldn't be censored.
Is it sad that an opinion like that is surprising nowadays instead of being the bare-miniumum? Yes.
Do I think that the average kiwifarmer will noenetheless appreciate and respect that position? Yes.
I doubt that anyone with the ability to make a nuanced post like that has anything to worry about from kiwis at least.
