Making Kiwifarms more Tor-friendly - Complaining

As some of you deviants may know, the Tor browser is pretty anti-Javascript. This is for good reason. Javascript can be used to easily track users of websites and has been shown to be used for this purpose. For more resources on this, take a look at https://browserleaks.com.

## Broken things
XenFono (The forum software that Kiwifarms is based on) uses Javascript sparingly, thankfully. Only real things that are affected by disabling Javascript are logging in (I wasn't able to log in on the "Safest" security mode on the Tor browser), posting new threads and comments, and oddly the logo. As far as I know, the logo is SVG, which should be able to be displayed using only PHP. This isn't the worst thing, the site still functions mostly correctly.

## Bandwidth
A thing I can't really excuse is the large amount of bandwidth this site uses. It's mostly for inconsequential stuff, too. I appreciate the background image, I really do, but for the time being, we should focus on limiting the amount of bandwidth used. This will improve site load times (which is crucial on Tor).

## Captcha
If one looks at other Tor sites, there does appear to be a captcha system available. If one visits Dread, the Tor Reddit equivalent, you are met with first a line to get in. After waiting however, there is a captcha that the site uses. Because this works on all security settings of the Tor browser, it can be safely assumed that this captcha uses PHP only. I would probably suggest using this as a Captcha for now, as the current one is quite easy to defeat.

Thanks for reading. I'm aware that none of these suggestions will be implemented in the coming week, as @Null is busy with family stuff, but I thought I should air my thoughts if this site turns to Tor-only, if even for a little bit.

This is another reason to take Null seriously when he says to thumbnail your images. I'm looking at you, random pics and gifs thread.

You could try blocking the background image with uBlock Origin to improve load times.

I'm aware, having plugins in Tor browser makes you more trackable though. Want as many defaults as possible. (I'm aware that KF isn't going to track me (much) but I browse other Tor sites so I'd prefer to not have to switch profiles every time I browser the farms).

Another thing to complain about: linking fucking soycuck retarded sites on here. I would prefer people link things like Nitter and Invidious rather than Twitter or Youtube. Because we're Tor for the time being, defaults on the Tor browser block these two sites. Luckily most Twitter links are archived, so no real issues there, but posting Youtube links or imbeds will a. not work and b. if you get it working you have to enable Javascript, which as I've established is bad.

At this point if you are going to put up anything Youtube, put it as a URL and not an embed as that way if on a desktop at least the link can be copied over into a regular browser window whereas the embed brings on an annoying process of unblocking the player, starting the video, right clicking to get the video URL and then pasting to a normal window. As for other bandwidth issues maybe file attachments will have to be reduced to still images only for the time being along with exploring image compression routes for everything else.
This entire site should have gone Tor only over a year ago.

There's another thing that's broken. Spoiler text. Can still read it with "Inspect Element" but is kinda non-user friendly. But I suppose only NEETs use this site now so it's not insane to expect them to know how to use that feature of literally any normie browser.

So if anyone is having javascript issues on TOR browser and isn't planning to explore the darkweb then you can go to settings -> Privacy & Security scroll down to Security Level and select standard. You shouldn't have too many issues on the site,

First off, learn2bbcode.
Tor Browser probably blocks SVGs because of security holes. You can embed Javascript in them which can execute in certain unexpected circumstances (for instance, if you right-click -> view image).

Tor Browser Bundle is entirely self contained. Just extract another copy of the browser bundle somewhere else on your desktop, name it KIWI BROWSER, and stick the plugins on that. Rename your existing one to DRUG BROWSER.

Works fine for me. I'm using the default JS security settings.
