The Endless Drum Beating

Maybe some people should read the notice at the top of the site before linking to people who want you to link to them for attention.

Is there a solid possibility that Elon's involvement has truly set twitter on a road to collapse?
I really don't want him to "save it". I'm certain that the world would be objectively a better place if it went away.

I doubt even reddit would ever get as damaging as twitter.
Twitter is just a place for famous/rich people to give their opinions these days.
If twitter crumbles there will be a vacuum, and then another similar social media to take the place.
Reddit has the verified aspect twitter has, and I can see their IPO in the future to maximize profit; so emulate other popular sites is a no brainer.
See YouTube shorts vs tik-tok.

They are all copying each other's homework.
So if twitter fails, you'll see YouTubeTweet or VerifiedRedditTwitLonger whatever bullshit name they decide.

The issue with twitter is a societal issue of mob 'justice' , but since justice is based on a subjective ever shifting standard now-a-days, the mob will just exert force on whatever opinion is against what's vogue.

In the times before, if you slept with a man/woman out of wedlock , you faced similar mob justice from your local town.
Sluts were ostracized and shotgun weddings were the norm.

But society says there is no objective truth. That each person can be what they want. Become a man if you're a woman. Whatever you define is reality.
This is the crux of the issue, and until this is treated the symptoms of rot will only worsen.

Best way to fight this is taking a page out of Joshua's book. Just don't engage.

If twitter just had rich/celebrities on it screaming into a void, then it will lose all power.

I don't have social media (this site counts tho),
my kids don't have social's until they are 18 (unless they make secret accounts),
and
I urge anyone I care about to get off social media or at least cut down significantly on time spent on socials.

"I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.”

If I never get to shit post in here again: It's been real Frens

I wrote this on Telegram, but I will repost it here:

I propose a great Kiwi Farms cleansing. Ban all accounts created before 2022 with 4 posts or less. verified accounts and people of interest excluded. Also, keep the registrations invite only permanently.

Opinions? Do you think that this is a retarded idea?

EDIT: The alternative would be to ban all accounts that haven't logged in for a year or longer, again verified accounts and people of interest excluded.

Not retarded, I just don't think it would make a meaningful change. If you're someone who is willing to post a bomb threat to frame someone else, getting hold of an account on a forum is such a relatively minor hurdle.

I mean, just think about it this way: how many people who consider themselves enemies of this site signed up new accounts over the last week? Even referral-only the number is certainly not zero.

The only thing that can sometimes prevent this is moderation, but it'll never cover everything. You could have new accounts have certain terms automatically flag their posts for moderator approval (like "bomb" woulda solved this one)...
but even if you just go wiping out ten thousand unused accounts, you're quickly gonna run into lurkers wasting mods' time complaining their accounts got nuked for no reason (lurkers like me, who frankly did use this to read and laugh about people I didn't know much about, but didn't post, until this week).

But it's like you're at a party with a hundred people having a good time and one guy wants to start a fight -- well, I guess there's gonna be a fight. It just takes one and it ends up being unavoidable in reality.

I am really sorry for saying this but telling people to unplug in the face of a massive TRA onslaught on this site is not helping. This campaign is not going to stop by ignoring Twatter, locking threads as if to offer the TRAs an olive branch (they won't take it) and moving to a new ISP every 12 hours. You can try to ignore the TRAs on Twatter but they are not going to ignore KF.

Those of us who have studied TRAs for years, we know they are worse than Scientology in the way they fair-game their targets. KF is experiencing some of the worst fair-gaming of a TRA target I have ever seen. I can tell you those who were fair-gamed by TRAs needed to get lawyers involved and had to wait for years for legal disputes to be settled in their favour. I can show you dozens and dozens of TERF legal fundraisers on GoFundMe and other platforms that were launched due to fair-gaming from TRAs. Please, I am saying this as someone who has watched TRAs target dozens and dozens of people whose lives they've tried to ruin: please Joshue Moon, get some lawyers involved.

BTW, Brave is not only blocking the .onion domain in their Tor browser but is now also blocking the Telegraph channel. (I have a screenshot but I don't want to upload it for fear of causing even more traffic.)

I just don't see why it should even matter. Wasn't it just last year that section 230 of the Communications Decency Act stated that companies like facebook meta and twitter could not be held liable for user content? Why should it be any different for KF if some fuckwit comes here and makes a bomb threat?

If one guy starts a fight, boot him from the party once he is seen and keep the party going.

If the laws were applied justly and equally, it would be that way, but these guys like to tip the board. Forums used to be allowed to clean up spam, even if it was illegal things without their owners being threatened or punished.

I'm not suggesting that these bans would be final and irreversible. The KF staff should allow you to appeal the decision, although you would almost certainly be put on a very long waiting list. This is simply an extreme measure that I have proposed as a last resort, which I believe we have come to.

Yes, but mainly because it's not a "user" issue. If all the traffic that was going to the site was registered and unregistered users, a site can handle 10k genuine users simultaniously pretty easily.

The issue is that EVERY SINGLE REQUEST is now hitting the server itself instead of a Cloudflare mirror first. The only way to realistically stop this fast is to switch to a whitelist only option where the router only accepts requests from whitelisted IPs, but I don't think I need to explain why this would be the utmost worst decision ever.

I'm on brave, everything working fine for me.

All I can think is that we must have cut into somebody's shady cash flow, since that's the only thing I've ever seen get folks so riled up over.

I wandered into a reddit thread about the Farms and it was like being transported back in time to 7th grade.

KiwiFarms has cooties! Yeah, it's true! I heard it! Did you hear it? That KiwiFarms has cooties? Totally true. They SAY they don't have it but of course they're lying! They're dirty lying cootie-havers! Eeeewww!

I honestly thought there were more adults in this world. Not sure why I thought that.

They are going to lose interest as soon as the next fucking funko-pop comes out or some other shit activist garbage they can leech onto and pretend they care about publicly. I think you are giving these faggots too much credit. If KF is down for 1 month the momentum will be gone and these wankers will be onto the next thing.

I'm a tech pleb, so I'm not sure if we understood each other correctly, but my solution was mainly intended for the sleeper accounts that are trying to post death threats on Keffals and others.

Maybe when LoTR gets cancelled by amazon for shit viewership.

Even if true, as soon as we are back on the clearnet they will dogpile again at the behest of some figurehead. As soon as someone does something retarded and gets a new thread, there is the chance that the same thing will happen again if that retard can rouse enough useful idiots to their "cause".
