"Current year" terms that piss you off

My response to this: "history is a series of lies agreed upon. I'd rather be on the Right Side of Reality".
That, I can agree with.

But don't tell the people that when they try to blabber on to you about "critical race theory" which is another term that makes me roll my eyes.

While it's not "current year" per se, it's been on the rise of late, I feel. or maybe I'm just unfortunate to have the occasional run-in with racist fools wanting an excuse to be racist.

On the topic of fools, "harmful" and "problematic" are two that have probably been mentioned in the thread. I can't take "harmful" seriously anymore because it's more than often always used by some twat to talk about how something inconsequential is "harmful" for stupid reasons.

"Problematic" falls under this exact same category.

A non-political one that makes me groan is "bussin" or however you fucking spell it. To me, it sounds like the Wish.com version of "based"

Ableist and ableism. Go figure, people will treat someone who is blind or crippled differently than people who are not.
I have no problem with people using these terms legitimately, for instance mocking or attacking someone with genuine disabilities. The problem is that a lot of terminally online retards often claim some kind of self-diagnosed mental disorder and cry "ableism" when they find something that offends their shallow sensibilities. For instance, claiming easy modes in games should be mandatory as an "accessibility feature," and arguing against it is decried as "ableist." Way to completely trample over all the paraplegics and amputees who suffer genuine strife in their day-to-day living simply because you suck at video games.

"You love to see it."

"drag queen story hour"

Instead of pissing me off, it actually makes me lol. This ridiculous phrase is an accepted part of political discussion in this world and everyone's fine with it.

"Russian military objectives, economic crisis, societal unrest, incompetent leadership, drag queen story hour."

One of these things just doesn't belong...

I really hate seeing the term "goyslop" being used. The first few times I saw it I did smirk a bit, but now it already feels so tryhard and it's almost always used in posts where the user can barely write out a sentence without trying to show off how "based and redpilled" they are.

Let me add a term I am genuinely getting sick off right here:

"Build Back Better"

A term used by politicians with the supposed intention of making the current things better than before, the actual intention is increased taxes and a drastic change of a lifestyle. Many others have adopted this term as well, stating to "build back better from the pandemic". Coincides with "New Normal" as a term. This current year shit basically means "yeah see the New Normal, we'll build back from it but even better". I don't want to build back better, I want a Return to Basics.

I got another weird one
"Polyqueer"
I mean...what's wrong with saying polyamorous? Sure it's gross and a one-way path to STDs and unwanted pregnancies if women are involved but come on now.

I think it's part of an annoying trend overall of putting "queer" at the end or beginning of everything like "genderqueer", "transqueer", "safequeer" etc.

What the fuck is 'safequeer'?
