SNL's decline has the same root cause that ruined all late night talk shows: they learned entirely the wrong lesson from the Daily Show's success under Jon Stewart. That show was popular because American news media by the 2000's was transparently orchestrated corporate propaganda, when it wasn't being divisive, salacious, and sleazy. As such, a show format consisting of winking at the audience and bitterly mocking that sorry state of affairs in a very irony-poisoned, gen x-er way became popular.
The Lorne Michaels and Chris Lichts of the world took that to mean we wanted actual news and entertainment to consist of nothing but unfunny irony-poisoned Gen X humor, all the time. Not that we were extremely frustrated at how stupid our media was.
Whoever coined the phrase that late night media now is just group therapy for normie libs deserves a medal for accuracy.

I think you're on the mark about sincerity in media bit about the Daily Show, but not Jon Stewart. I think Stewart did well from 2004-2007, but after that he got awful and the writers who made him funny left. His shit about the 9/11 Firefighters Fund makes me extremely against him because he basically wants an infinite referral system for Firefighters to hide money for other causes and he does the emotional appeal and then joke.
The entire Obama Admin was letting Hollywood retards in to be their spokespersons and letting some West Wing interns become Presidential Speech writers. Trump might've been a celebrity, but the Obama years had Obama want to become a celebrity. It's not like Elvis coming to meet Nixon, it's much more incestuous look Obama's Presidential Medals of Freedom and Press Dinner in retrospect.
I honestly think the Bush to Obama bullshit was a media narrative. Uniparty and all that. I think Stewart only shined because he was allowed to be a little more gutsy then everybody else. Like a Teen Heartthrob being pushed by a label. His shit is canned in retrospect.

I'd imagine only part of the reason for the hard sell is because of desperation - the types that wouldn't just read the first line of that first solicitation and chuck it in the trash have likely made numerous poor financial decisions based on urgency suggested solely by complete strangers, which is why we all get to pay for a bunch of liberal arts degrees currently being put to use in a Starbucks near you.

That's why they hate archiving so much. Save them on some actual long-term storage mediums (the longest are rated for several decades) and keep backing them up, since digital mediums are fragile. Hell, write a fucking book about J6, print a few copies, find repositories. The truth must never die out.
I hope it isn't too little, too late. The only ways to fight the state are to either abolish the state (Republicans are too cowardly to do so since that's hardcore revolutionary shit) or use the state. Problem is the boomer right (and a lot of the right in general like libertarians) has been memed into worshipping capitalism as some unquestionable good instead of just a force of nature that needs to be controlled lest it absolutely fuck you over.
And "mandatory military service for 250k income" probably isn't be too far from what happens now with all the commies and other trustfund faggots being churned out of West Point and our other military academies.
I mean it seems pretty clear that the government knew 9/11 was about to happen but ignored the threat to the point where one of the foremost experts on Al-Qaeda and the 1993 WTC bombings, John P. O'Neill, was forced into retirement and ended up working at the WTC (despite him knowing the risk, I mean in August 2001 he even stated "They'll probably try and finish the job").
