Apparently Z-man is talking smack about Trump now.

Zelensky Speculates Why Trump Kept Praising Putin (Archive)

Volodymyr Zelensky said he was "surprised" that Donald Trump continued to praise Vladimir Putin as Russia was gearing up to invade Ukraine, while claiming he did so to promote his domestic policy.

Speaking to CNN, the Ukrainian president said that Trump had "plenty of time" to know the type of person Putin is, and that he shouldn't have continued to speak highly of the Russian leader amid the February invasion.

"He [Trump] was sitting at such a high position where it's not even possible not to recognize that he [Putin] is the opponent in terms of values, your own people," Zelensky said. "He has all the might of this country — intelligence, data — to create a psychological profile.

"Probably he needed this to promote his domestic policy to show that he's ready to find understanding with the president of Russia," Zelensky added.

Trump was previously criticized, including by his own party, for comments he made about Putin ahead of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Speaking on the Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show, Trump described Putin's tactic of recognizing two self-proclaimed republics in eastern Ukraine and sending Russian troops to the regions under the guise of "peacekeeping operations" as "genius" and "very savvy."

Trump doubled down on his praise of the Russian president, telling a crowd at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida that Putin was "pretty smart" as he had "taken over a country for $2 worth of sanctions" just as the fully fledged invasion was underway.

Trump again described Putin as "smart," while also praising Chinese President Xi Jinping during a rally in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, on September 3.

"Ukraine in his eyes is too far away," Zelensky said. "But this war has no distances it could not cover, so I believe he needs to look at the situation without, as we say, pink glasses on."

Trump has frequently suggested that Russia would never have invaded Ukraine if he were still president as he and Putin had an understanding.

In a recent interview with Indian broadcaster NDTV, Trump claimed "we wouldn't have had to do anything" when asked how he would have handled the Russia-Ukraine war.

"That was never going to happen," Trump said. "And by the way, for four years, it didn't happen. Okay [...] But with President Putin, he would have never gotten in if I was President. Never. Not even a chance."

Newsweek has contacted Trump for further comment.

With Trump you weren't in a war, little fag, and your people weren't dying. I guess you were just mad you weren't skimming billions in aid into your own pocket.

Reading the comments sections on that Newsweek article, and then the comments on the article that gets reposted by Zerohedge about this, is night and day.

The left and right wing in general have flipped on foreign policy at this point.

You got a link to the Zerohedge, yes, politically they lean right but they also are pretty neutral right when it comes to certain activities like investing and trading. I wonder if their "right" biases is only because, under Trump, economy was good until the pandemic. Under Biden, economy and markets are on fire; I'm more short than I am long.

OK, is the onion address change going to cause any of our regulars to drop off again?

The fuck is he on about? The buildup of forces for the Ukrainian invasion didn't start until Brandon was in office. I get that he may need to brush his teeth with Biden's dick at least a little to keep the aid coming in, but this seems a bit much.
republicans have no say in this. why bother? if anything, keeping his time on air helps his Swiss account

The Zerohedge writers are more anti Federal Reserve and like financial doomposting but also enjoy making articles about lefties being idiots because that makes hay for them. The client base seems quite boomers but they've been /pol/ tinged boomers for quite a while.

I mean it seems pretty clear that the government knew 9/11 was about to happen but ignored the threat to the point where one of the foremost experts on Al-Qaeda and the 1993 WTC bombings, John P. O'Neill, was forced into retirement and ended up working at the WTC (despite him knowing the risk, I mean in August 2001 he even stated "They'll probably try and finish the job").

Epstein had this painting seized from one of his homes. The elite laugh at you.

Remember we do not live in a police state we live in a democracy and the majority is a bunch of literal fascists trying to destroy you. Ya know I am starting to think that the entire Trump is a fascist thing was a ploy to lessen the term so when Ol' Garland and the DoJ slipped on those boots no one would dare to speak as they goose stepped down the street but...these people are fascists. They are eliminating political responses.

Fed Note: You are eliminating political responses. Sooner or later you are going to hit someone who is not a pussy though I kind of think that is what you want. I for one abhor violence and wish you would stop sucking the CCP or WEF's dick and be Americans. Ya know...just stop. Arrest your leaders who are in clear violation of laws and we can all move on and have some faith in the system. You realize what the alternative to faith in the system is right? Did ya take world history dumbfucks?

Everything from both sides just escalate. One does something. The other pushes it further. Except when one side does stuff it's considered fine.

Trump had all his rhetoric about criminal Hillary. Doesn't go beyond it being rhetoric of "lock her up." The left now just went, "lock Trump up" and are actually trying to do it. Trump was wrong and bad. Yet the left is now completely fine.

The left normalises violent protests across the US. The second the right has one, it's labelled to be the worst day in US history since the civil war and 9/11.

There's no principles any more. Well there are, but they only get applied to the other side. Everyone's a hypocrite.

No no no no no...Come up with something else. Hillary actually broke the law. It was found that that she broke the law. The reason she got off was that Comey basically said she didn't know any better when she fucking did. She has been dodging deposition by Judicial Watch over that fact for two years now. She was ordered to submit to deposition until a favorable judge helped her out.

She not only used an unsecured server but destroyed evidence that hindered a federal investigation. She was never the president so you cannot argue that she had privilege or had declassified anything that may have passed through that server.. That is not an equal comparison.

There is a huge gap between someone who actually broke the law and has been proven to have broken the law and someone who has been investigated for the better part of a decade and all the investigators ever seem to have is credible allegations.

The right has never done the shit that the left is doing. Even Bill's trial was more legit than what is going on right now. Fuck Clinton actually perjured himself and it was hand waved away.

There is no equivalence here. We are watching one party try again(Obama did it when he weaponized the IRS against the tea party((Enjoy that anal probe farmers)) to squash opposition because they know that really most people do not want their pill.

Seriously I am so fucking tired of pretending that Hillary was exonerated of criminal wrong doing in the email matter. She was not. She was protected. If a bunch of Trump aides destroyed their hard drives what do you think would happen to them?

In fact where are the phones from the Mueller team? OH mysteriously wiped? OH what a fucking coincidence? That fire at Chappaqua in 2016? Totally nothing to see here feds.

Come the fuck on stop pretending the table is not tilted.

People are dropping great takes at natcon:

Blake Masters says the right has to start getting comfortable using state power to achieve their ends, Rusty Reno suggests mandatory military service for any American making over 250k a year, Desantis says that large businesses aren't private + dont have 1st Amendment rights because they're doing the bidding of the regime + says that the USA is a country with an economy, not the other way around while also rejecting Reaganism + waves of legal immigration, Peter Thiel is making housing affordability for families at the center of his right wing agenda.

Kingfish style policies are now apparently right wing
The problem with the use of federal power is that it's intoxicating and you can't put it down, because it's such an effective way of dealing with national issues, and its not like Republicansarent averseto expanding the state . Just look at how W bloated the state to fight his bullshit wars and erode your civil liberties, like Al Gonzales deciding to go after old women in California exchanging medical Marijuana using the Commerce Clause.

obviously you shouldn't avoid using federal power, but when so much of it so blatantly violates our basic Constitutional principles, it's hard as a conservative to justify relying on it.

I don't disagree with anything. I'm talking how things escalate.

Bad shit gets normalised. Remember when the news regularly reported on the countries the USA was illegally occupying? It's been normalised.

Watergate was too far, what Obama and the Dems have done to Trump is much worse. So many people don't even consider that.

I'd say we are missing a ton of the usuals at the moment. Hopefully they can find their way back in, at a minimum Stalins was in a known alternative.

As for the main topic. The inconsistency of application of "rules" is what drives me insane at most. We live in anarcho tyranny at this point, the rules are constantly changing and never applied consistently so you never know what to actually adhere to. And it's oh so tiresome....

It's one of the reasons I almost welcome the robot apocalypse since I would expect my chipset overlords to be consistent on how they apply their rules. Right now you just have to accept that playing the "well, if X did it" card means fucking nothing, the only relevant thing is who did (or is perceived to have done) the action, not what the action itself is and that won't change till at a minimum the savage choke on the flow of information gets broken.
