anyone seen the cyberpunk anime? would like to hear your thoughts.

I enjoyed it quite a bit, it has an over the top rush of escalation to the end that is similar to TTGL. Animation was pretty fantastic and the use of CG didn't really bother me much, I don't watch much modern anime but the excess violence and sexuality was welcome.

I'm about halfway through and I'm not really impressed, it's directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi so it looking bad was pretty much impossible from the start but imo, it's the worst looking thing he's directed. In large part because the animation is kinda rough most of the time with movement just looking extremely lackluster and nothing all that exciting happens on screen very often to boot. I'm starting to warm up to the cast but episode one was a pretty lame start to the story. I feel like I could end up thinking it's pretty good by the end but as of right now, I think it's pretty mediocre. As a side note that I'm gonna sound like a faggot for saying, I think the dub is actually pretty good and I prefer it to the sub.

Don't know for people that never played the game, but the anime does a pretty good job at representing the cyberpunk world and it's themes, animation is pretty good and it is what you would expect from Studio Trigger's cartoon-y animation. The characters are mostly pretty good they are lackluster in depth but they all still shine on their own from their expression and energy. The story is pretty good, it is predictable but they do a good job in story-telling.

for just 10 episodes I am glad that they didn't try to go above and beyond, they instead focused on what is enjoyable and understood the sacrifices they had to make.

So some anime I've never heard of allegedly had the producer run away with all the production money. I find it pretty funny because that's literally a plot point in a godaweful arc in the new Jashin Chan season.
I actually liked the tourism episodes minus the second one, they're glorified ads, yes, but they still had a ton of character and personality. The newer episodes are better though.

I know this aired last year, but having finished it while the site was down, why did so many people hate Back Arrow? I kept expecting "okay here's when it's gonna get bad" but it never did. It's a fun romp all the way through like some JRPG mixed with insane over the top Gurren Lagann bullshit. My only real complaint is that Gurren Lagann did everything better in terms of being a giant tribute to the genre (oh wait, they have one attack that looks like the Shuffle Alliance finisher from G Gundam). I wish I watched it when it aired instead of other shitty mecha shows from last year like Kyoukai Senki or Dynazenon. Do people these days just not understand that sort of deliberately stupid anime?
Season one is pretty much a masterpiece, I need to finish it myself. Got kind of burned out around the 4th stage but I'd never say it gets bad, stick with it cause it's an amazing series but never listen to the OST while driving, trust me.
It's not as good after Third Stage because a lot of the drama goes away and Fourth Stage is just race after race without as much context, meaning, or stakes (with a few exceptions IIRC). They aren't bad by any means, but it isn't the same as the earlier seasons.

Disregard any opinion that says not to listen to the OST while driving.

Finally, another Back Arrow comrade. Zetsu Daidan was one of the most based characters of that season, & I'll stand by that.

I read some jojos while the site was down. This was a mistake, don't do this.
Finished Aiki based on that recommendation from earlier as well. It improves once you accept the weird rhythm of the protagonist not giving one fuck and the antagonists not actually being villains so there's no point to anything, but it also kind of just ends so it turns out there really wasn't.

Also turns out the Shadows House mango is even better than the anime. The music isn't as good though.

Admittedly, I have not fully watched that much new anime over the last couple of weeks with the exception of old anime and a few of shows that I just finished prior to those two weeks (e.g. Chio’s School Road, Eromanga Sensei and Gabriel Dropout)

Aside from not going on MyAnimeList for a few months, I decided to make a mental note to see the anime that I have to finish/have to watch. I’m pressed for time, so here’s the following:

  • Girls und Panzer
  • Strike Witches
  • Texhnolyze
  • Cyber City Oedo 808
  • Love Live! Sunshine!
  • THE iDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS
  • Slayers
  • Excel Saga
  • His and Her Circumstances
  • World’s End Harem
  • Redo of Healer
  • In/Spectre
  • Higehiro
  • Clannad
  • The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
  • Steins;Gate
There’s already more on my mind, but for now these are just the ones that have came up. I’m hoping to get to at least some of them before the end of October.

Watched it while the site was down and it was fucking great, wasn't too long nor "deep" but it was a fun ride and the ending got me in the feels. Awesome music as well, I was delighted to see my nigga Akira Yamaoka worked on it, dude's a legend.
Also: burn in hell Adam you nigger
Girls und Panzer

It definitely gets wild, have fun with it.

Reddit and publishers always have to overhype everything in existence. I also wouldn't mind them turning Edgerunners into an anthology type series, there's a ton you could do with the setting and I feel Trigger and CDPR did great with this.

I misread Higehiro as Higurashi and was all like "DOO EET IT'S OCTOBER" and now I'm sad.

Watch CLANNAD, though if you're not ready to be an emotional mess yet and just wanna laugh, Excel Saga.

Why do this to yourself?
If I can lash out at frustration over reading this and wasting my life away, while having a movie like this be my favorite, then I deserve the right to waste my life away watching those two in question.

Also, I made a promise to watch Worlds End Harem the minute I started to get around to reading the manga in the last couple of months, while I just never got around to finish Redo of Healer because I tried to watch stop being lazy and get around to finish this as soon as possible.

hey
redo was fucking hilarious

Gotta say, I love this show. I'm also surprised kekflix didn't fuck it over somehow. Maybe Trigger has more power than we thought.
