I'd like to think a good number of Floridians who would be there will be actively distrustful if not hostile to Biden's presence. There'll be plenty of jeering and the news media covering it will be doing their damnedest to hide the crowd's displeasure by editing it all in post.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Friday said that farmers in Florida need illegal immigrants "to pick the crops" as she called for "comprehensive immigration reform" and said there was a shortage of workers in the U.S.

Pelosi was asked about whether the southern border is secure, and responded by saying that while "we have a responsibility to secure our border, we also have a responsibility to recognize the importance of newcomers to our nation."

"Right now, the best thing that we can do for our economy is comprehensive immigration reform," she said. Democratic proposals for such reform typically include sweeping amnesties for illegal immigrants already in the U.S.

Pelosi then pressed her economic argument and made reference to recent moves by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and other Republican governors to move illegal immigrants north to places like Martha’s Vineyard, New York City and Washington, D.C.

"We have a shortage of workers in our country, and you see even in Florida, some of the farmers and the growers saying, 'Why are you shipping these immigrants up North? We need them to pick the crops down here,'" she said.

Pelosi’s remarks come as the U.S. remains in the throes of a historic border crisis which has seen more than 2.1 million migrant encounters this fiscal year, and more than 200,000 migrant encounters in August alone. It is the ongoing nature of the crisis that has led Republican governors to bus and fly migrants further north. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has bussed more than 10,000 migrants to Washington, D.C., New York City and Chicago, while DeSantis sparked outrage from Democrats when his office flew about 50 migrants to Martha's Vineyard.

Republicans have blamed Biden administration policies, as well as incentives offered by "sanctuary" cities, for fueling the crisis. Democrats and the Biden administration have blamed the Trump administration for rolling back legal asylum pathways, and have used the crisis to renew their calls for a pathway to citizenship for millions already in the country illegally.

Vice President Kamala Harris recently claimed the border is "secure" while also calling for a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants.

"I think that there is no question that we have to do what the president and I asked Congress to do, the first request we made: pass a bill to create a pathway to citizenship," Harris said on "Meet the Press" this month. "The border is secure, but we also have a broken immigration system, in particular, over the last four years before we came in, and it needs to be fixed."

It wasn’t a statement that Pelosi appeared to be ready to endorse on Friday.

"I believe that we have to have a secure border. And I think that we are trying to address… the president has a plan to address that," she said.

Weekly RINO update, since Trump put out a Truth tweet shitting on McConnell again, using very mean words bigly against his chyna asset wife, it's being used as a contrast to super dependable Desantis being very composed after Hurrican Ian.

As someone who lives in a hurricane prone state I've never expected the world to stop when they come through, just be smart enough to realize business might be affected for a few days.

The more Desantis is pushed, the more I reject. My litmus test for '24 is "will you pardon the Jan 6th protestors?"


edit: this hits harder than I thought it would while watching it, and is pushing me to a point where I could give less of a fuck about miniscule variations in spending and taxes, there is such a cultural rot mainly led by one party that is destroying men and needs to be corrected.

I haven't watched the video and to be fair I should. But regardless of if Russian and GERMAN engineering failed and the foot thick steel and concrete pipeline suddenly blew open, I find it highly unlikely that this should happen in three different places on two different pipelines in sudden succession.

Once is happenstance. Two is coincidence. Three times is enemy action. No?

The vast majority of Chinese immigrants to non-pozzed parts of the USA moved here back when the CCP didn't exist. That's how America got the token Chinese family operating a restaurant across the whole nation.
Really, what I'm amazed about is that they have all those stations in Toronto, but not Vancouver. Maybe Vancouver's so far gone in terms of CCP bugmen immigration that they no longer need to have a separate police force to track them, locals are on board.

Sometimes, all people want, and need in life is to feel loved and appreciated. Sad that today's society at large doesn't want to do that without strings attached.

Yeah that honestly wouldn't surprise me. People have suspected for a long time that it isn't just the various organized crime groups that operate out of chinatown in vancouver. The chinese population is so large and chinatown so tied into it in the lower mainland chinese community that theres very likely a heavy CCP presence there. I wouldn't be surprised if most major shops and such in the area were either infiltrated or owned outright by the CCP. Toronto is more legit 'multicultural' rather than just mostly asian so I can see why the CCP would take greater steps to keep tabs on the chinese population there

That said, the government shouldn't be allowing it at all under any circumstances. Who knows what else they're doing with that influence and what problems they can cause if the CCP gets it in their head to do something
