Jim Sterling / James "Stephanie" Sterling / James Stanton/Sexton & in memoriam TotalBiscuit (John Bain) - One Gaming Lolcow Thread

Rest assured, though, he is still losing money hand over fist; he's lost almost $30k annual income in the last 12 months.
First off, welcome back. Was afraid you were one of the Grape Password Reset Victims. Second, it really shows how Jim has never been financially struggling since the jump to independence. He lost $30K in a year (give or take) and not only isn't struggling but can afford his own wrestling hobby. If he's not loaded, he's as irresponsible as the executives he loves to hate.

Didn't he say something about wasting tons of money in microtransaction mobile shit (which is never his fault of course because disability)?

A long time ago he did. I believe he's said he's "susceptible to that kind of easy spending".

I know I've said this a lot, but if Jim can repeat the same thing over and over then I can as well: The problem with Jim's stance on Microtransactions isn't because there isn't anything wrong with them. They are abusive and manipulative. They do target people who are quick to drop more money than a sane person should. The issue is that Jim is making no effort to help the people who he himself claims need help the most, and instead wants to punish those who do wrong. Because Jim Sterling will always trade his precious empathy for anger-induced retribution.

Jim being bad with his money doesn't surprise me since its not an uncommon story to hear someone from a poorer background come by money and they manage to waste it all without realising it, the difference is that since Jim gets his large sum of money regularly (and has done for almost 8 years) he likely doesn't even notice it anymore.

I think the next step of the Jim Sterling Saga is the crying poverty. Not because he's actually broke, but for Jim, not being able to support his life style is oppression. IN fact, I expect him to accuse capitalism of ableism once he can't afford his special skittles.

I don't think we'll see Jim's income fall to a point where he might have to stop living so extravagently for a few years, I expect someone to out him for some bullshit first and than we can move onto the 'poverty' saga.

I went over it in the notes, but it's basically a quirk of how Jim's Patreon is tanking. He takes a huge hit then it climbs back up about halfway then the process repeats. Last month's review happened right after one of these dips so it was extra low whereas this month's review it's in the level out stage that precedes the next big dip:

I gotta ask, what's your deal with this guy? Like, critical circle jerking is one thing, but you comment on this thread almost exclusively with a chart of her fuck it his analytics, you hate watch them on a schedule, relish every speculation or instance of failure that comes their way, you give no quarter in your contempt of every aspect of the guy to a very visceral degree. Like he peaked you and you've been quite driven to watch him fail at everything and then never log on to the Farms again.

Because the Math of Jim's patreon and wondering how it works is unironically more interesting than the Jimquisition is.

My man where do you think we are? Autistic cataloging is what we do and in 3 years when Turkey Tom or The Right Opinion make a 2 hour long clickbait retrospective about the downfall of Sterling they'll come here and use these metrics and comments. Circle of life on the internet

Bit of an odd question to ask on the farms.

But for the truly lazy who cannot be arsed to read this thread: Over the years, Jim's content became less about games, the game industry or remotely game-related news, and more about trans party lines, vitriolic attacks on his own gamer audience, and capitalism bad (which is hilariously hypocritical considering his monthly income and spending habits). A few months before Jim started his trans grift, but after he started hot takes on gamers and capitalism, people began dropping off as subscribers from his Youtube channel - a channel that until then had showed slow but steady growth since its inception and his boom to fame during the Digital Homicide arc.

Being a mature adult, Jim blamed this notable shift in his view-count and subscription openly on gamergatesque transphobia by means of a whiny call-out video with some stans "celebrating" him dropping to 900k subs. It was truly salty and fun. Since then we've massively enjoyed tracking his increasingly dropping view-count and subs as well as his income and spending - combined with his transparent salty takes on twitter and him battling the horrors of TERF island that he voluntarily moved to.

If this sounds fun to you, come join us. If not, there is nothing for you here. This is a local thread for local people.

Personally I'm betting on financial ruination through gambling (ideally microtransactions for added irony) because Jim's claim of having an addiction problem is the one thing I'm willing to believe him on.

Everyone has a favourite cow, or type of cow at least, and Jim is mine, because I'm fascinated by people who only need to keep doing what they're doing to succeed but still manage to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and fuck it up. I can think of few people who've managed to self-immolate their entire brand as efficiently and consistently as Jim.

As for my 'visceral contempt' I can only assume you've never been to the Beauty Parlour or Tranny Sideshows thread, because my assessments of Jim are positively clinical by comparison.

He will no doubt blame the pro TERF "Nazi" Tory government in the UK for not paying to keep him in his degeneracy.

I do remember reading somewhere that there is a lot of quid pro quo in patreon where peoply give cash to each other to artifically inflate their value. Not saying all of the cash Jimbo is wallowing on is fake but I wouldn't be surprised if a chunk of his cash gets directly redirected into other Patreon.

This without accounting for the troon racket since I would also be very surprised he didn't kiss some rings to get in the good side of the cult, specially since he doesn't seem to have the balls (lol) to chop them off.
It's why when Patreon wanted to change how it charged people (taking a fee from the supporter instead of a % of the creator) troons lost their shit. Yes, this would legitimately hurt creators who relied on a large amount of small donations, but it would also stop the endless donation circles since they'd lose money each time the money changed hands.

And yet they still do the donation circle. One wonders how much Jimbo wasted on Patreon pledges every month.

For me, I enjoy the analytics as they show how capitalism is keeping Jim in a cushy lifestyle whilst he makes video after video shitting on capitalism. If Jim got his way and we became totally socialist, he'd lose pretty much every nice aspect of his own lifestyle. He makes so much money that he could be living a very, very nice life with his own house, etc, but he blows all his money on shite and lives in a rented murder dungeon instead.

I think we already discussed how comfortable Jim's relatively boring and mild antics are a little before the Great Restoration, but I truly enjoy him as a cow because he's not a 'burn twice as hard die twice as fast' guy. For me, he's a simmer of semi predictable takes. Like tuning in to your weekly episode of Columbo.
Just without the bumbling charisma of Peter Falk
