If you ask me it feels like they all got THAT big mad about a bunch of farmers shitting on people loliposting, but they didn't give themselves any favors by continuing to lolipost (and reduce the age down and down) as an epic own I guess
So after that they just grabbed the doxxing thing as a reason to start a kiwihunt and accelerate the drama then get surprised that farmers hit back with bants
Largely agree with Crunk here, but for all its shortcomings, Poast is still okay compared to many of the alternatives.
There's a lot of people that I like and have helped me on Poast. I do like Graf but he is one whiny baby and many of its users resemble him, contributing in no small part to all of this inflated e-drama. All in all, I still find this community to be in the 'okay' camp, although it does suffer significantly from its
loose policy of defederating whoever he deems to be "harassing" other users.
Yes there are instances I much prefer out there, but few of this size. Graf is doing something right, and we all benefit from it. Josh reaches a lot of people with this platform and it serves us well whenever there's downtime (particularly before the Telegram channel.)
Following that train of thought though, it does remind me of how centralized mainstream social media works though. If eventually everyone just signs up on Poast because it's the biggest
nigger-saying node, turning a blind eye to its shortcomings in favor of being where everyone else is at, how different is that from the centralized shitheap we ditched previously? What was even the point of pushing for a federated system?
Crunk does have the right idea here and it's how the fedi should be used. Downside is that it takes more time to grow a smaller community than to join a big one.
But at the end of the day Poast has been more of a boon than a bane and I am grateful for the frens I made there. Both parties benefit and it would be a shame to burn this bridge, even if Graf is prone to throwing hissy fits and defederate users arbitrarily.
Hopefully KF.CC is restored soon and we can all breathe more easily.
