I guess Zelensky has it all figured out. As does the Twitter sphere.

I have already explained. It's not complicated.
Russia retreating to pre-2014 borders is not "unconditional surrender". I shouldn't even need to go any further, only a massive faggot would be crying that ending the conflict is "unconditional surrender" with Putin having to sign a Versailles-tier treaty.
"Avoiding nuclear war". Again, Russia getting defeated conventionally isn't a reasonable reason to use nukes. Anyone who is begging for Ukraine to stop advancing is a complete and utter cocksucker.
"T-the w-world is d-dangewous" because of Putin...
But the monetary value of the aid we've sent to Ukraine exceeds the yearly budget of the entire Russian military
This is a lie. Due to something called "purchase power parity", Russia's yearly budget is closer to 220 billion. A billion USD in the US buys less weapons and labor than a billion USD equivalent in Russia.

so it turns out the mobilization is actually also one huge forced vaccing program. how will poltard antivaxx russiaboos take this news? they will disregard it entirely and keep shilling for russia like the NPCs they are

Can't talk shit about bugman anymore, but they will anyway.

More importantly Ukraine and the West generally cannot succumb to nuclear blackmail. This is a war of aggression, plain and simple. We can argue all day in circles on whether it was justified or not, but at the end of the day it was NOT Ukrainian tanks storming across a UN recognized international boundary here.

If we let Russia play the Nuclear card to end this war on their terms its a greenlight for every bad actor to do the same. It would also be a flagrant violation of the Budapest memorandum.

Sorry guys, we are committed. Russia threatening to use nuclear weapons will not stop the war. They will have to actually use them, and then we will see where the chips land.

If Russia retreats to its internationally recognized borders, the war stops, and it would've lost military gear, lives (RIP), and face, and it'll live to fight another day (hopefully not necessary, but this is a shitty planet with shitty monke species that fight over banan).
If Ukraine stops now and negotiates, the war might temporarily stop until Russia regroups and rebuilds, it will have lost lives (RIP), entire cities razed to the ground, military gear, and would've gained face.
It will also lose LAND, which is not acceptable, as giving land for peace now means that it is acceptable to bully and invade smaller nations and then demand parts of them in order to retreat, which will collapse the whole international rule thing completely and open up all smaller nations to predation.

Will the USA stop trying to take Sevastopol from it?

Peskov says they still haven't defined where the borders of the new territories are.

How the fuck do you run a referendum in a territory you don't actually know where it ends?
Translation: expect more "gestures of good will"
To be fair they were already stupid enough to hold "referendums" literally nobody on Earth accepts as legitimate. Even the Soviets were smart enough to wait a few years after the end of WWII to really sink their teeth into the Warsaw Pact.

Also Dmitry, I think the will of the people in Ukraine has been made very clear. Once liberated, they'll no doubt provide even more fresh volunteers to be armed, equipped, trained and ready to kill the next batch of untrained and underequipped felons, losers and unlucky conscripts Putin dumps there to die.

Yeah, I'm not buying the bullshit that all of the blame lies with Putin. All of this shit since 2014 has fingerprints from the U.S. all over the place and asking me to not notice is like begging me to pretend that a person without tongue can still speak.
Ahh, yes. Ukraine handing Russia it's ass is all just a cunning play by the evil Anglo-saxon. In no way can the Kiev regime have popular support. It's all Americans up and down the chain.

Mostly, yes, unironically. U.S. intelligence and planning is vital for the Ukrainian war effort.

Again, asking me to not notice is like telling me to believe that there's a pink elephant besides me.

Sure. But it would be nothing if there was no will to actually use it. We can argue all day how complicit either side is in this mess, but at the end of the day the people doing the deeds are not Americans

What's incredible to me is people on the Russian side don't understand why NATO has expanded eastward into the former Warsaw Pact and former Soviet SSRs.

Do they honestly think that the people in these countries were friendly towards Russians and admired the Soviet system? No, you jackasses, they were afraid of you! It was all fake, they hated your guts because of the Communist nightmare you imposed on them but were too fearful of your power to do anything about it at the time. Russians in Eastern Europe were like the Japanese in Manchukuo or Korea.

Now things have changed, Russia is weak and it's payback time.

Those are some petty ass reasons to endanger global stability. Again, the overreach displayed here is appalling and the optimism of "end of history" moment feels so remote now.

Petty reasons like revenge and revanchism are some of the reasons why Europe will become an irrelevant museum in the future (and the U.S. welcomes this with open arms, of course)
