A service cat is a pet that the owner says is therapeutic either because they want be seen as special, get discounts and extra rights that go with service animals or because they genuinely see it that way. Sometimes all of the above.

Cats can be awesome pets but they can't really perform trained behavior reliably enough to be use as an actual service animal (and I'm saying this as someone who had a trick performing cat with leach training for traveling) but they can helpful to manage mental health. Animal companionship can lift loneliness and taking car of an animal can live meaning. This can far enough to help with seizures because alot of them are triggered by stress and animal can help you to calm down.
