The Foreman Spike info came before scammer Zippo's "leak." He made it up based on that info.

Not really. If the toads are any indication, Mario should be pretty faithful to how he looks in the games.

Poster actually looks decent, and the Toads look at least happy, so I have no issue with this. I even joked that the back of Mario looks like the guy who dresses up as the mascot and was transported to the Mushroom Kingdom as if he were in an isekai anime.

Either way, I’m looking forward to Thursday.

I'm assuming you mean the US version, which is pretty much the red-headed stepchild of the family at this point considering only the Shy Guys and Birdo get references from that game (and they only appear on side games at that unless you count anything Yoshi related as a main game).

I've always assumed Wart belongs to whatever company owns the rights to Doki Doki Panic, along with the family who was replaced by Mario etc. Weird Nintendo owns some of it though, like Birdo. Idk actually.

I think the cartoon family were Asahi's* (it was for them, right) but everything else was created by Nintendo for the game, IIRC, including the game's world, characters, etc.

I haven't looked this shit up in a decade but I think they mostly sat at home and watched TV Asahi in their television promotion.

AFAIK Nintendo actually designed Doki Doki Panic, so anything original to that game that was in promo for that expo or whatever DDP was made for would still belong to Nintendo. Kinda like how you never see Mallow or Geno from SMRPG pop up anywhere, because they're Square-Enix characters. Square can do whatever they want with those two Mario universe characters they own, much like how Nintendo made a character based off of the real-life creator of SimCity, and then had him get catfished by a goat in Link's Awakening just to be funny
