A "Skeptic" would probably try to look into and research religious traditions and rituals to analyse their purpose, origin, downsides and merits, but skeptics are universally anti-Religious seeing no merit in it. Pat has proven more than once that he isn't afraid to use children as a human shield to protect his ego. He abandoned a daughter because he couldn't control her mother and his ego couldn't take that. So a few dozen anonymous children getting diddled isn't going to stop him from owning the cyberstalkers. He'd rather be friends with monsters than admit that he was wrong about something.
