So while I think the general opinion of trooning out is clear on this site a thought has occurred. Recently I have been reading a thread on someone trooning out as a career move essentially. Now this is in the context of the theatre but it has genuinely made me thoughtful. As the levelmof effort to gai troon status is essentially fuck all (apparently I can keep my beard even...) what is the general thought on this?
If i were to advise the hr department that my pronouns are in fact she/her or one of the many variants and claim to be a troon they have to treat me as one. Which means I gain access to womens programs (grants, fellowships etc) and maybe have a better chance at them than the women as minority representation is a massive thing. If its purely administrative (rest assured I have zero interest in actually being a woman) does anyone think its worth cynically ting advantage?
