Not even that, Gehenna talked about it over a year ago how the polls where showing that people where blaming Biden for the situation in Ukraine, if that's still the case a year later then any mention of Ukraine or things looking to get worse due to it puts Biden at a negative.

I rate optimistic because I think Biden's plan now is to get Russia to fire a nuke and get two benefits:

1) The right to nuke "defensively" and eliminate the Russian people.
2) The ability to totally crush any dissent at home. As we saw with Musk calling for negotiations, the goal is to make anyone that isn't pro-genocidal war on behalf of Slava Ukrania and suppress them. Any calls for moderation will be treated as terrorist talk and ultimately make elections formalities.

I'm reluctant to add this possibility since it's more tangentially related, which is why I didn't put it in the list, but also depopulation agenda. Nothing gets rid of humans like nuclear war and Bill Gates defintely wants less people in the world.

As utterly horrific as the devastation was and the ongoing danger could be. I think its important to understand what would have happened if the Atom bomb was never invented.

Japan would have had to be invaded or starved into submission. They were not going to willingly surrender to a conventional force without a fight if they could help it. Such was the utter fanaticism of military and even the civilian population. This was a people that unironically believed the emperor was a living god. And the Japanese had a good track record of almost never surrendering.

I dont think anybody realizes how insanely deadly the prior fire bombing campaign was. Millions of People burned alive as city's were reduced to ash.


They got nuked twice, They were fire bombed a shiton more. If you look it up, Your not going to find much difference between the nuke victims and the fire bombing ones. Countless more people died of starvation.

Projected casualty's for the landing force would have been in the millions, and this is before factoring in all the secret Kamikaze planes and subs the japs were itching to use. I would not be alive to comment here as my rookie great grandfather and many others were being prepped for deployment in the first wave. There also was going to be a huge ass shift of forces from Germany after it's surrender, not to mention as many allied troops they could get, such as the SAS.


Also Russia was gearing up to invade japan from after they took the islands. Good chance we'd have an east/west japan situation if the russkies didn't eventually try to take over/subvert everything conventionally. I cant begin to imagine what a conventional russian/american war would have looked like.



Ive done extensive research on the subject, and it is my firm assessment that In the short term the nukes saved a lot of lives.

Elon didn't shutdown starlink on the entirety of Ukraine, it was only on the new territory of Russia, to prevent them from accessing starlink ukraine network from the terminals leftover by fleeing troops.
This was at the request of Ukraine officials, the rest of Ukraine still has functioning starlink services and terminals, its just the funny timing of everything happening at once.
its worth noting that Elon has a team of people managing starlink who work in tandem with generals to manage the service in the war who make decisions independently of whatever Elon is doing.

I know I've brought up Semi-Lolcow Stuart Slade before, but he'd actually worked with what the post MAD world looked like. Back in the 70s and 80s the projections were that most people wouldn't die from the nukes, just about a billion or so, but by the time the infrastructure break downs, starvation, and assorted plagues where done, roughly half the population of the planet would be dead and we'd be back to horse and buggies. Fallout was only a major issue for ground level detonations, most nukes were set to airburst to maximize their destructive potential. Some of you all might be right, maybe only 1% of Russia's nukes would work. But maybe not, and that's still tens of millions of lives.
