I have a message I would like to give to the DKF orbiters lurking the thread.
Years from now, when this whole thing blows over, whether or not the Farms survives the trials and trifles you've forced upon it, we will look back on the days when shit like this went down, and when you decided, apropos of nothing, to use every single asset at your disposal to silence your critics, to shut them down and marginalize them, to act like you were somehow oppressed while wielding institutional power such as genuinely powerless people could only dream.
And I can tell you how this song and dance ends, because I'm old enough to have danced it before. Assuming you don't simply lead to the end of discourse on the internet as we know it (and bless you, you're trying), blastback against what you are doing will continue to build. More and more people will take issue with what you're doing, and more and more of those people will not be people you can screech at on Social Media to get what you want, but instead people who say nothing on Social Media, more often than not, don't have a presence, and fucking vote.
Veteran Kiwis, ones who have seen some shit in their time, could regale you of tales of the likes of Pastor Fred (of godhatesfags fame), and how he unintentionally did more for the cause of gay rights than basically every gay rights activist combined back in the 90s. How he did this was being a gigantic fucking asshole, and doing things so fucking beyond the bounds of good taste that even die-hard tradcons and fucking paleocons would stand up for gay rights, solely because fuck that guy. Through being a giant dick in making his political points, he essentially poisoned all attitudes against his own side. There are videos, still on Youtube, from the late 2000s, of Phelps getting fucking excoriated by the likes of Sean Hannity, worth checking out if you want to see something absolutely surreal for that era.
I bring this up because you're doing the same thing Fred Phelps did, but from the other side. You may not be aware of it, but on Social Media, people fear you and what you're capable of, and moreover, despise you for what you are actively cultivating. It's not just that you are actively making harder for people to engage in any kind of rational discourse on any platform, it's that your solutions will almost unilaterally make everything for the worse, for every single group on the internet, including the marginalized people you claim so vociferously to care about.
Each time you go nuclear against some target that angers you, the magnitude of what you are doing gets harder and harder to justify for people, to the point where inevitably, they will decide that dealing with you is worth any risk. The Farms has a ton of oldschool lefties on it who were, by and large, perfectly content to live and let live - who would have agreed with you, but for your sheer hubris. After seeing what you intend for the internet as a whole, they have no choice but to side against you, because what you are doing is leading us to a future where everything sucks for every community on the internet, and you are blind to it. When the inevitable happens, and major political change happens that you don't like, I can only pray that the realization that you, yourself, were the architect of your own woes won't come as a surprise, because others will be far more eager to rub your noses in it than I would choose to.
