One problem is Charles Martinet isn't young anymore and it might be mord harder to said the same voice for a long movie instead of a game.

@Jay Lucien Even so, that doesn't mean that the job would be easy for any VA. I mean Mark Hamill had to retire from voicing the Joker in Batman because it's a strain on his voice. Charles is 67 so his voice may not be able to sustain the Mario voice as well as he could've 30-ish years ago when Super Mario 64 came out. Some character voices, while they may make the VA a lot of money due to the iconic nature of the character's voice, may just simply be beyond their ability to sustain for long periods. You and the OP are both correct here but we're forgetting that age plays a role in things like this too.

Tara is a mad cunt but she is right on this one. Charles is a severely underrated VA. He did the voice for a dragon in Skyrim and did so well, so it's just the dumb suits that are not willing to give him a chance.

Samantha Kelly isn't Toad in the movie, either. At least we got confirmation Charles Martinet cameoed his voice in the film, but haven't heard about Samantha being any of the other Toads.

Is it just me or has she been screeching about this more and more? Is she not getting as much voicework anymore?

Plus, Charles's Mario doesn't really talk, he makes grunting noises and "wahoos!" Maybe he speaks a short sentence if we're lucky, but it's not like he's having conversations in the game.

I don't know if Chris was the right guy for the role, but having Charles do an entire movie in the Mario voice might get annoying. Maybe Charles could have done a deeper voice for Mario, though.

I'm sure they could have made it work with him, they probably just wanted "star power" with stunt casting, like how the last Batman game replaced half the voice actors with Hollywood types. Funnily enough in those games, after the first one it was Tara Strong who replaced Arleen Sorkin as Harley Quinn because Sorkin retired due to her age.

Tara and all the other obnoxious, drug addled celebrities will be giving money to the man they hate almost as much as Trump in order to maintain some kind of status and prestige on Twitter. Think the difference is she was impersonating the CEO. Unless someone can prove there was a Jack Dorsey impersonator account that was never once banned to disprove this, as well as prove that Kathy Griffin was legit being 100% satirical and ironic (lol), she deserved the banhammer.
