There are no optics here, if Russia is not using a nuke yet or doesn't obliterate cities in full, it's either because it cannot, lacking either the tools or the manpower, or because it fears similar escalation from NATO.
It's pointless to engage in pages of arguing about which bridge was civilian and which was military, and it's pointless to point out cities were attacked, more of this will happen if the Ukrainian army continues its gains, at least until Russia convinces Belarus to send their own kids to die in the meatgrinder and/or refreshes its resources from Russia itself. Luka seems OK with entering the war, nobody should be surprised if it happens, considering he literally infected his country with random migrants just to attempt to bully the EU by amplifying its absolutely retarded conflict between East and West when it comes to migration.
Not much to do, mourn the dead and continue pushing. A few rockets will be irrelevant in the big picture if Donbas and Crimea returns to Ukraine. There is no path out of this without more death, and the best way to minimize deaths is to accelerate Putin's military losses and catalyze () a civilian uprising against his regime.

The elected Ukrainian government was overthrown in 2014 and a new puppet regime was installed. Russia had no treaty with that regime.
