President Joe Biden on Tuesday said that the United States will impose sanctions “far beyond” the ones that the United States imposed in 2014 following the annexation of the Crimean peninsula.

“This is the beginning of a Russian invasion of Ukraine,” Biden said in a White House speech, signaling a shift in his administration’s position. “We will continue to escalate sanctions if Russia escalates,” he added.

Russian elites and their family members will also soon face sanctions, Biden said, adding that “Russia will pay an even steeper price” if Moscow decides to push forward into Ukraine. Two Russian banks and Russian sovereign debt will also be sanctioned, he said.

Also in his speech, Biden said he would send more U.S. troops to the Baltic states as a defensive measure to strengthen NATO’s position in the area.

Russia shares a border with Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

A day earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered troops to go into the separatist Donetsk and Lugansk regions in eastern Ukraine after a lengthy speech in which he recognized the two regions’ independence.

Western powers decried the move and began to slap sanctions on certain Russian individuals, while Germany announced it would halt plans to go ahead with the Russia-to-Germany Nord Stream 2 pipeline.

At home, Biden is facing bipartisan pressure to take more extensive actions against Russia following Putin’s decision. However, a recent poll showed that a majority of Americans believe that sending troops to Ukraine is a “bad idea,” and a slim minority believes it’s a good one.

All 27 European Union countries unanimously agreed on an initial list of sanctions targeting Russian authorities, said French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, and EU foreign affairs head Josep Borell claimed the package “will hurt Russia … a lot.”

Earlier Tuesday, Borell asserted that Russian troops have already entered the Donbas region, which comprises Donetsk and Lugansk, which are under the control of pro-Russia groups since 2014.

And on Tuesday, the Russian Parliament approved a Putin-back plan to use military force outside of Russia’s borders as Putin further said that Russia confirmed it would recognize the expanded borders of Lugansk and Donetsk.

“We recognized the states,” the Russian president said. “That means we recognized all of their fundamental documents, including the constitution, where it is written that their [borders] are the territories at the time the two regions were part of Ukraine.”

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Putin said that Ukraine is “not interested in peaceful solutions” and that “every day, they are amassing troops in the Donbas.”

Meanwhile, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday morning again downplayed the prospect of a Russian invasion and proclaimed: “There will be no war.”

“There will not be an all-out war against Ukraine, and there will not be a broad escalation from Russia. If there is, then we will put Ukraine on a war footing,” he said in a televised address.

The White House began to signal that they would shift their own position on whether it’s the start of an invasion.

“We think this is, yes, the beginning of an invasion, Russia’s latest invasion into Ukraine,” said Jon Finer, the White House deputy national security adviser in public remarks. “An invasion is an invasion and that is what is underway.”

For weeks, Western governments have been claiming Moscow would invade its neighbor after Russia gathered some 150,000 troops along the countries’ borders. They alleged that the Kremlin would attempt to come up with a pretext to attack, while some officials on Monday said Putin’s speech recognizing the two regions was just that.

But Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin told reporters Tuesday that Russia’s “latest invasion” of Ukraine is threatening stability in the region, but he asserted that Putin can “still avoid a full blown, tragic war of choice.”

NS was dead from weeks when it crashed and they are still a shitload of other pipelines from Russia to Europe.
Russia turned off the gas supply on NS1 and NS2 was still under construction, the other pipelines have one problem.

The ones that supplied us (Austria) goes through Ukraine and Ukraine throttled the gas supply from Russia to Europe in the past to get what they want.

Right now my monthly electricity bill is three times that of 2021 (around 1500€ a year), heating went up 50%. Diesel is at over 2€/L. Saying that Europeans are fed up with NATO and the US prolonging this war and EU sanctioning Russia is an understatement. That has nothing to do with supporting Russia. Fact is that we rely on Russia and are not energy independent like other countries, thanks to enviromentalist retards blocking nuclear energy. Most likely if everything stays as is, old retired people here in Austria with a low pension have to choose between eating, heating their homes or having electricity this winter.

Yessir nothing like war crimes where you attack civilian infrastructure for no reason to really show how you are on the right side of a conflict.

Also you misspelled "Sneeding".
The Kremlin has determined that the attack was no war crime.

We're far more fed up with Russia's misadventures into Ukraine.
If you want prices back to normal, the current Russian regime must be destroyed so a new one can make peace, retreat and reboot the economic relations, this time with safeguards in place so we don't get bullied by some shiteater in Kremlin because he decided he needs to be just like Peter the Great or w/e

By all means please explain how the Russians, who couldn't capture the captial after achieving surpise with their fanciest tanks and other weapons are going to kick the gates to Kyiv in rust wagon T-62s with a bunch of Yokels from the world renowned Belarussian army all while the US gives Ukraine real time updates on when Putin scratches his asshole. Hopefully they skip Pripyat and don't try to build trenchlines in radioactive marshes this time
Please explain how Russia's losing when it's heavily outnumbered yet has inflicted several times heavier casualties on the Ukrainian forces, ruined their economy, caused them to have to draft literal children because they're almost out of adult men, and has reduced their military to almost nothing but foreign surplus aid.
Judging by reports and footage it seems to be a slaughterhouse in the Bakhmut direction, the Russians have been throwing themselves at the Ukrainian defenses for three months now, apparently leaving the fields in the area covered in corpses. I don't really get it to be honest, since the liberation of Izium and Lyman there's no longer any strategic value to be gained from taking the city.
Yeah, infantry attacks are totally like conscripts being thrown into a meatgrinder ala WW1 charging overtop of allied corpses with bayonets. Why would Ukrainian reports ever lie or exaggerate about something like that? I'm not gonna pretend I'm an expert who knows everything for a fact, but I think some of you guys are too quick to accept what Ukraine says as the truth, and from a lot of the posts, it comes off as Reddit levels of hatred for Russia that don't seem particularly justified. Do you think Putin's a big nazi bigot and Russians are nazi meanies or something?

The virtue signaling protests supporting Ukraine stopped when the truth set in that sanctions hurt us more than Russia. Now you see weekly anti-government Protests in major cities across the EU, those protests will only get more severe during the winter months. Like Putin or not, nothing he has done in the years hes been in office comes even close to the warmongering of the US.

Here's another video from the Bakhmut area, showing Ukrainian infantry attacking Russian positions.

All I'm seeing here is two heroes of the Federation holding their ground against overwhelming ukrainian assault, duping the Ukrainazi storm troopers while they withdraw with zero causualities.
Then some shakey Hohol footage that is probably taken by a collaborating in Arizona or some desert where he shows off his ill-kempt shoddy uniform, declaring a 'rip' as a bullet wound while his buddy takes a nap in a stolen Russian uniform.

Now that I'm posting videos, I might as well post some more. Here's some new HIMARS footage.
A bunch of stupid Ukrainians using equipment from the soviet era AKA the peak of Ukraine because they can't build anything better, getting exploded and trying to say they are russians. Probably blue-on-blue they are trying to spin as a huge attack on "russians".

This video is supposedly an attack on Russians who were retreating from Lyman.
I'm just seeing a bunch of Ukrainian ill-maintained soviet left overs being shelled by our glorious patriotic artillery as they mill about out side of Kherson (WHICH IS STILL IN RUSSIAN HANDS, COUNTER OFFENSIVE A FAILURE, NAZIS BTFO) due to the ineffectual Ukrainazi leadership. They were just going to drive around for a while to say they were at Kherson until they got spotted.

This is vatnik-mocking sarcasm. I shouldn't have to say this, but I'm pretty sure Poe's Law means this argument is being made in earnest

Of course, only westoids protest, because they feel safe, further away from Russia.
Why did you expand the EU and NATO eastwards if you never felt any kinship to East Europe and never intended to defend against Russian aggression in this part of the planet it considers its sphere of influence?
You fuckers got too cozy with your rich countries, never at war, never in danger, unable to defend yourselves against events such as migration and queers.

You are correct that we must be careful of falling for propaganda, it would be very dumb to deny that there is a lot of misinformation coming out from both sides in this conflict, as such reports should be taken with a grain of salt and videos acknowledged as only representing a mere snippet of what is actually occurring on the battlefield; universal statements on who is winning and who is losing shouldn't hold much weight. However if you're expecting other people to accept this then surely you must do likewise, where is your statement that the Russians have inflicted several times heavier casualties on the Ukrainians coming from? Please provide proof. Let's no let what could be a interesting conversation on this conflict devolve into an emotionally driven conflict of narratives.

Not only in the west, there are protests announced in Romanias Bucharest too. I don't keep up to date with protests over there since i focus on my own country and the ones surrounding it. We just had our election yoinked by our version of Sleepy Joe and as soon as the election was over, they started talking about mask mandates again. Austria is not part of the NATO and i think the NATO and EU should be disbanded anyway. Im more worried about the politicians openly demanding a European Army.

Damn, I guess Belarus and Russia are gonna just beat the shit out of Ukraine as everyone lights their Brandenburg gates and Eiffel towers in blue and yellow.

The sanctions will work THIS time, bros.
OHHH I'M A FIXIN' TO CONDEMN.

They're working fairly well pedo Putin stan. Putin has run out of effective soldiers or any soldiers, not even prison scum and Dagestanis or Chechens want to fight for the little nonce any more, and the rejects they gather surrender when they get to the battlefield. The only market for their oil and gas are third worlders who pay a fraction of what Germany or Italy paid. They might get the parts for the one working T-14 via the Turkish grey market, but that's pathetic. Belarus haven't sent a single soldier as the moment they'd be ordered cross, the first casualty would be the weirdo commie larper president.

Restoration work is currently underway across the country. We will restore all objects that were damaged by today's attack by Russian terrorists. It's only a matter of time.

Out of 84 Russian missiles launched against Ukraine, 43 were shot down. Out of 24 Russian drones, 13 were shot down. And even after that, every 10 minutes I receive a message about shooting Iranian "Shaheds" down.

Therefore, follow the safety rules and pay attention to the air alarm. The danger is still there. But we are fighting. I am grateful to our Air Forces and Ground Forces units that were involved today!

Ukraine cannot be intimidated. We united even more instead. Ukraine cannot be stopped. We are convinced even more that terrorists must be neutralized. Now the occupiers are not capable of opposing us on the battlefield already, that is why they resort to this terror.

Believe in yourself, in Ukraine, in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and in our victory! Glory to Ukraine!

Denys Davydov on dealing with the blackout. Denys suggests the bridge attack was an internal Russian act, perhaps as a provocation or simply one section to embarrass another sector of the government.

Why would we care what a few people in an irelevent 3rd world shit hole thinks.

That's a lot even giving the recent price hikes. Do you have any big consumer, like a heat pump or an electric vehicle? What is your kWh price, if I may ask?

That has nothing to do with supporting Russia. Fact is that we rely on Russia and are not energy independent like other countries, thanks to enviromentalist retards blocking nuclear energy.
>Blocking nuclear energy

I cannot blame an American for not knowing but as European you should be very well aware that the French nuclear reactors are one of the reasons for the current energy crisis, right?
unknown.png

France went from a huge exporter of electricity to an importer. The difference of what is currently missing is nearly your countries total electricity consumption. For fucks sake calling for nuclear in this situation is just mind boggling for me.

Regarding the energy dependency I like to quote Taleb:

"You can't squeeze the same people more than once per lifetime. There are things called:
SUBSTITUTION
ADAPTATION (smaller cars, electric bicycles)
MIGRATION (factories closer to energy)
IRREVERSIBILITY"

Gas is very flexible and thus every solar panel, every wind turbine is reducing our reliance. Current installation numbers for 2022 are already looking similar to 2021. And with the current prices this will just be a slaughter for fossil fuels in the medium to long-term time horizon.

I had to autism my way through Romanian media because of this, which is unforgivable.
There are "announced protests". The protests are against rising prices, and demand that wages and pensions are to be increased. Supposed to peak in 21 Oct. A week ago there was one protest in Bucharest, organized by AUR, which is a rather low quality cuckservatard party with somewhat suspicious links and sympathies that went underground as Putin launched his invasion and the pandemic BS was over. There are conflicting participation numbers, 10K from Simion, leader of AUR, so zero trust, and 3K from mainstream media, so dumb shitlibs, so zero trust. 5-6K is already quite a bit though. There are two other protests mentioned, one with 30 men, and another with 80, ggs.
None of the protesting was against Ukraine or pro-Russian in nature. Support for Ukraine in Romania is likely in the 90%, even though the relations were often tense and conflicts about minorities and Serpent Island have existed for a while. Also there is Moldova, where Russia plays the same game in Transnistria as in Donbas, and Moldova is essentially a part of Romania that got cut from it by the usual culprits, so that alone will almost certainly guarantee further support, as little as Romania can offer as a poor country.
For things to start returning to normal, the war has to stop. Ukraine is not a price Europe should be willing to pay.

I cant believe this, but there are several sources on twitter and even a video, the Ukrainians fucked up Kerch bridge
Made a edit to add the videos, the balls on these people. I am guessing the Russians will say it was a smoking incident.
Up close, it appears the fire was on the train tracks but the car section collapsed too.

"We didn't need Kerch bridge anyway, stupid ukrops celebrating an outdated bridge collapsing!!!"

When this farce of a mobilization started, propaganda talk shows spent a lot of time discussing how conscripts should be supplied, like all the basic shit from uniforms and helmets to first aid kits, problems that still persist. Not geopolitical and strategical issues like usual.
This is the world superpower, apparently. It's downright embarrassing. If this happened in US, secretary of defense would've been fucking hanged.

The dirty little truth is Russia was never a superpower. Having nukes alone doesn't make you one, I'm sure most of us would agree that North Korea is not a superpower despite possessing nuclear weapons.

Force projection is the name of the game and Russia never had that capability even back when USSR was at its zenith. At most they can invade land neighbors like Ukraine, Georgia, etc. I'll label Russia a superpower when they can do a full invasion of Brazil using their combined land, air, and sea assets.

From what I understand that area is mostly manned by Wagner men and they just feed themselves to the machine guns. They famously did this in Syria too when they attacked US forces and were promptly blown to pieces. It seems they're still enjoying beating their skulls against the wall.

No, the dollar is a fiat currency. It's worth as much as what the Federal Reserve says it's worth.
Except that BRICS countries are happy to trade in Ruble or gold bypassing the dollar others can follow suit. The Federal Reserve can say what it likes it doesn't mean any will listen.
Russia is falling apart, and if things hit the fan, the Americans can always fall back on Texas and finish the Keystone Pipeline.
Shill news outlets have been saying sanctions worked and Russia falling apart since before the invasion began, it still hasn't happened, keep up the wishful thinking though.
Texas can't meet US oil demands not even at full production. Keystone......if you think Biden administration is going anywhere near that you're deluded.
It kind of does. Russia is getting defeated by US arms alone. If the American army landed in Ukraine, they'd wipe out the Russians and march to Moscow.
The US military has failed in: North Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan and Libya to name a few. Even if they could make a beachhead on Russian territory they aren't marching anywhere. US arms aren't working much in Bakhmut....

We should've ended our dependency on oil decades ago. If this hastens it, then I'm all for it. Other sources like nuclear and ethanol are far better, anyways.
But you didn't. Nuclear, sure it's a better alternative, pledging to give $6 billion isn't actually doing it though. As for ethanol, good luck it already a dead end.
Defeat? The Ukrainians are winning.
Winning a PR war sure, advancing into areas with zero opposition and calling it a win. Winning the actual war, no. Recent Russian missile strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure show they have no air defences at all.
When Ukraine loses Bakhmut it'll break their back.
Although, they can call another mobilization (Ukraine's 8th now?) and have leave to call up women and the elderly can't wait to see how that works for them.

Of course, only westoids protest, because they feel safe, further away from Russia.

Nigger 'we' didnt want shit to do with your slavic asses and wouldnt have given two shits if Putin personally raped your mothers on live tv while screaming GET OUT OF HERE STALKER.
But we got dragged into this fucking mess by our sociopathic elite who keep wanting to poke Russia so we dont pay attention to China, the real threat.

So on behalf of the working class man, the regular joe, the fool working 9 to 5, I ask you to please die faster. Ukraine or Russia I dont care.

When you say that a currency is "tied to" something else, like a commodity, that means that the value of the currency tracks the value of that commodity (or other currency). You stated that the $USD is tied to oil, which is not true. You appear to be confusing the $ with the petrodollar, which is a settlement system, not the backing for a currency. You dumb zigger.

Like Serbs and Croats 30 years ago? Or the Russians in Holodomor? Or Ukrainians and Poles in the years 1943-1947?

Get real. Slavs kill each other just like wolves from different packs kill each other. There is no such thing as slavic unity (neither germanic unity, nor scandinavian unity, nor any of this nonsense at all).

Panslavism and other blahblah like it is a pure stupidy produced by russians.

Kadyrov is a fucking traitor of Islam deserving nothing other than grave on a pigfarm. If someone is looking for true and honest moslems in this war we have some Chechens on the side of civilization in two separate units:

- Dzhokhar Dudayev battalion,
- Sheikh Mansur battalion.

Main difference between Chechens fighting on ukrainian side and kadyrov's cowards is one thing: both of this units are fighting in real, not at tiktok.
There are serious Chechen units not TikTok larpers on the Ukrainian side. Kadyrov is a sort of collaborator who was able to extort a bit more from the center than whatever loser operates Abkhazia. The participation in the war now makes the bennies tangled from Putin not worth it tho.

Survival is what East Europe does best.
And we will drag others with us even in a WW, read your history, wink-wink
Literally nobody but Russia complained as Poland, Romania, Hungary etc. went into NATO. Everyone knew why we joined it, US wanted expansion of its influence, and East EU wanted protection.
We don't want much to do with your faggy and migrant idiocy either, yet this is the price we pay to keep war away.
