I think everyone overestimates what management companies actually do in regards to inspections and shit. Most management companies manage their properties very passively, and usually don’t inspect anything unless they have received numerous complaints. I deal with this shit in my job daily, where people who are disgusting pigs and live in absolute filth, remain living in their apartment for years and years to the point it is practically condemned.

Just to PL that though, I moved into an apartment that was occupied by a hoarder. I saw it beforehand, while she was there, there was a couple feet of crap on the floor but I could see that structurally it was fine just needed the crap out, the hoarder was being evicted but more on the "just leave and we won't pursue it legally" front. I moved in about 3 weeks later and it had been very well cleaned, painted and odor free.
