Edit: I guess when Tony talks about MTF trannies "being worshipped" 3,000 years ago he means the Scythian enareës described by Herodotus? The legend is that a group of Scythian men defiled a temple to Astarte in Askalon, and thereafter were afflicted with the "female disease". They formed a transvestic subclass of the priesthood; you could draw a parallel to some appearances of eunuchs in history. However, you should have read that all with your shoulders shrugged, because when you end up relying on Herodotus you are already on shaky ground. I highly recommend Bret Devereaux's series of blog posts about Sparta, in which Herodotus plays an important role -- Herodotus effectively manufactured Sparta's military reputation -- and Devereaux recalls Francois Hartog's remark that Herodotus, when writing about other cultures, is actually writing about Greece. i.e., perhaps don't take Herodotus especially seriously when he's describing the details of non-Greek civilisations.

Apologies for double posting, but one of Tony’s McGinn “sisters” is doing the rounds on GC Twitter and I wanted to lay down a marker in case he commented. TaylorSky was 7 months post-op at the start of September – wonder if he was part of the same batch of McGinn B&B guests as Tone?

SRS thread posts:
It is time for a surgery regret post from TaylorSky. … The surgery was a penile inversion from McGinn. 7 months post op.
Remember u/taylorsky? … Well...I happened to spot they'd posted on the detrans subreddit and when i checked their profile It appears they may have 41% last night.
Found an archive of the removed suicide note

Good summary of TaylorSky’s saga: Twitter thread, archive. As a reminder, McGinn is meant to be one of the best for MTF vaginoplasty.

Edit: And Tony’s previous on post-surgery regret;

Going to be lazy and just stick a "[citation needed]" on his claim that there were MTF troons (!) being worshipped (?) "3000 years ago" (!?). This is pre-Homer so I very much look forward to any future TikTok Tony might make on the subject.
He's arguably correct in that.

The insane being revered as "touched by the gods" is an ancient belief - one of the few that seems pan-cultural. Probably NOT the message he was going for, but technically correct.

Lol bulllllllshit. People in rural Maryland don't talk like this, this is retarded.

This like Jussie Smollett tier fabrication.
How dare you! You didn't grow up in a southern rural town as a closeted trans like Erin Reed did, you can't judge his statement as untrue and dishonest! You may live in Maryland but Erin Reed is RIGHT THERE with the people, fighting to stealth and survive!!!

"I'm allowed to judge rural areas!" sounds like such a pain to cry out on twitter. He has to ward off other people who like to tackle you into a fight on twitter with this magic spell. How awful.

So men are so much better at being women than women themselves that old timey folks (well before third wave feminism) thought troons were closer looking to how they pictured goddesses? And troons in that era (no HRT, surgeries and probably no wigs even) were literally worshiped? And this is supposed to speak to our modern more advanced society in which ways?

And not approaching passing for cis is actually a good thing, even superior to completely passing? Even though the only rational goal for transition should be passing completely or else this logic undermines the entire stated purpose for actually transitioning. Should I check the 1300+ likes for Jake, Sean or some other lolcows giving likes for Tony rejecting the central belief that caused him to cut off his dick?

It's actually topically relevant why that was true. Their theories of mental health were reversed, they concluded that the insane must be in contact with the gods because the sane weren't. The gods were obviously not understandable by mere humans, so when they did speak to a human it drove the human insane and made their message intelligible. Troon mental health theory seems to operate on the very same principle, that the person has come in contact with "true gender" and been left wanting to the detriment of their life.

For all his declarations about his love of science, Tony clearly wants to erase knowledge (see also: his constant demands for extensive censorship) in favor of false superstitions because he thinks they'll make him feel better about his poor life decisions. He'd be dangerous if he wasn't, well, you know, Tony.

This is the troon version of WE WUZ KANGZ.

Tony is still thirsting after the MMA ogre troon.

He also comes to the defense of Dylan Mulvaney, a troon so viscerally repulsive and creepy I still can't believe he's not part of some elaborate Sam Hyde skit.

"it's actually hot to be built like a linebacker because it vaguely resembles a ludicrously out-of-date look that real woman once wore"

really wish i hadn't read that cuz it's gonna be living rent free in my head for while

“Makeup brands and shops often are trans women's first exploration of womanhood and femininity. The GCs hate that and are trying to stage a boycott.” ….Tony, maybe you should unblock some of the 200,000+ Twitter accounts you can’t see. Women aren’t mad about men using makeup, Dylan is specifically speaking about girlhood to a fellow adult male host, and they rightfully find that very fucking creepy, like most people who aren’t groomers like Tony. Other women were angered by Dylan’s talk of becoming a mother, and those women are clearly tradwives/conservative women who are not “terfs” (but we know Tony jealously hates all uterus-havers). I’ll keep specific criticisms of Dylan for his thread, but fuck Dylan, and fuck Tony, and it’s been a joy watching Ulta’s social media intern scramble to hide comments that don’t worship delusional ugly men in dresses. Lovely to see women come together to shit on these dudes.

There is no provision in the Constitution for federal referenda. Your sex is not female and you probably will not get 60 votes in the Senate to make this federal law in your lifetime or mine. (Not saying I don't support this or any efforts you take on its behalf, I'm here on Earth for the lulz.) You're more likely to get an eventual Republican Congress to specifically outlaw Self ID.

As always, happy to help.

One thing that’s been noted about religious cross dressing or castration traditions is that there’s usually an element of mockery and humiliation. The idea that being a woman is so debased that a man mimicking one, either through clothing or physical emasculation, is comic. What I’m saying is, Gali priests and the like weren’t trans-women. They were drag queens.

We live in a society that can't appreciate the mystic philosophy of being trans. We suck at respecting his religion and we should all be ashamed.

If the goal for transition isn't to pass I might as well start calling cis males she and trans women he since there's no difference at that point.

Tony clearly wants to erase knowledge (see also: his constant demands for extensive censorship)
Every time he demands censorship it oddly makes him feel less powerful. Not only does he usually not get it, but demanding someone stop talking instead of refuting them tends to make you look weak. "But I counter TERFs all the time!!" And you're so mad you're not winning the hearts and minds of the public you demand for the women to shut up.

He also comes to the defense of Dylan Mulvaney, a troon so viscerally repulsive and creepy I still can't believe he's not part of some elaborate Sam Hyde skit.
"Makeup is often the first exploration of femininity" but I thought that was backwards thinking: make up is gender neutral, right? Is being woman partially defined by make up? Eugh.

there’s usually an element of mockery and humiliation. The idea that being a woman is so debased that a man mimicking one, either through clothing or physical emasculation, is comic.

Either that or the first humiliation fetishists agps.

If I had to speculate, the whole we wuz goddesses thing sounds like it might have come from a jumbling together of Native American berdaches/two-spirits, who apparently had shaman-like roles in some nations, and the galli priests of the Phrygian Magna Mater cult in ancient Rome. Typical Redditor pseudo-intellectual shit: well-read enough to have heard of such things, but not enough to actually understand the entire picture of how these people fit into their respective societies. The irony is that many of the native terms for the former basically just mean "effeminate gay man".

Credit to the galli for at least having the, er, balls to castrate themselves in an age when anesthesia didn't really exist. Can't imagine most of today's perpetually online Twitter troons going that far down the DIY route to true and honest womanhood.

Yeah, apparently the Romans typically referred to the galli as "half-men". Not exactly a term of unqualified approval.

Dylan looks a lot like my horrible meth-head uncle. It's a remarkably common troon phenotype.

Also, I somehow feel like if I, an unabashed straight white dude, were to call myself the heir to a caste of semi-divine beings who ruled over lesser, browner people, I'd be called a maniac.

I was going to say keep an wye on your uncle for trooning out but really, if he does it isn't a loss.

You're going to have to become Shaun King, transracialize that shit. Besides, Erin isn't thinking about brown people period, he's just taking it and applying it to white culture and expecting whitey to appropriate it with him.

He's probably referring to androgynous/hermaphrodite gods and goddesses... which are/were not transwomen, and doesn't at all imply that ancient cultures would have been accepting of sex perverts trying to insert themselves into women's spaces, not even slightly. In fact, they were probably even more concerned with gender roles and the differences between men and women. Lol

If we were back then Aaron Reed wouldn't even try to be a true and honest woman like he always was in the 21st century, he'd be abusing his wife (and Greek whoops that's before big Rome general slaves if he could afford them) and trying to worm his way into politics or being some sort of powerful class back then. Hell, if he was in the 19th century he'd be doing the same (minus the slaves) preforming stolen valor or some shit.

The whole "we were gods, once" is rather remiscient of how powerful Roman and Greek families would claim descent from various gods and heroes. Except instead of being descended from divine beings who shaped the world, or superhuman figures who slayed monsters and forged kingdoms, they're at best vaguely remiscient of long dead outcasts who probably spent most of their days washing down the altar.

Also, if trans beauty is so unique and precious, why are we pushing so hard for puberty blockers. Why deny these children their "heritage"?

(While of course stripping of the ability to pass on any of their actual heritage, natch)

That's the frustrating thing about trying to discuss trans shit. They're incoherent, and proud of it. Because to be 'queer' is to be complicated.

The "WE WUZ SHAMANZ 'N SHEEIIIIT" fallacy:
WE WUZ SHAMANZ.jpg

For unknown reasons, these tards think that claiming that some backwards cave people treating delusional men as "priestesses", "shamans", and "goddess" proves anything. Like, what's even the point of bringing this up (without any actual evidence)?
