Plagued Consoomers / Consoomer Culture - Because if it has a recogniseable brand on it, I’d buy it!

Consumerism now is way different then consumerism 77 years ago or even 123 years ago because back if someone bought something they liked that was the end of it they didn't have people going around covering there rooms with merchandise of there favorite products sure they liked entertainment but it would have been rare to find a person with a hardcore three stooges obsession back then my point is nowadays it is socially acceptable to buy 3000 plastic toys then it was back then
They've existed since time immemorial, in the long ago days of our parents and grandparents they were known as hoarders. The terminology changes, the behavior remains constant.

You guys have any old pizza boxes that need to be taken away? Because this guy could help you with it.
A lot of these boxes aren't going to be that interesting beyond the address on it and maybe the mascot. At least someone collecting bottle caps could use them as post apocalyptic currency.

Only for the first game though, at least until a new company buys the IP and proves they have few original ideas.

Please don't propose in Disney-anything.

Edit: About the video @NoReturn posted.
People have a right to choose if they want to live or not. This whole "Nooo, you cannot die! You have to live", seems more maniacal, cruel and tasteless. Especially if the government says anything, because they just want you to be a taxpayer for life.

And this whole "depressed people cannot think straight", seems silly and rude.

There are 41 of these and counting.

I won't go too far into the weeds here since it's off-topic, but if you do ketamine you can use up all your endorphins and become physically incapable of feeling happiness. Sometimes if you are just sick, you'll want to die, but if you get better you won't.

I have defended warhammer40k as not really being "consooming" in this thread before. I hereby retract that statement.

The Tau Manta is probably one of the most expensive wh40k model kits you can buy. It's about 1700$ for just the manta itself and the kit the youtubers bought is far more (2300$)
And yet GW cannot seem to make the parts fit. And not just a bit, like a half mm slit in between two parts, but major warping that requires some serious work to rectify. And the e-celebs are just slopping it up, not seeing any problem with it. If that isn't consooming, I don't know what is.
Luckily, the comments are more normal.

They finished it by the way.
I suppose it looks cool but for $1700? Fuck outta here. There are kits that have the same amount of material and still costs less than this.

What can be blamed for modern consumerism? Disney and Mickey Mouse? Star Wars? The Beatles?
Remember when Alec Guinness told off a kid that saw Star Wars 100 times? I once thought he was being mean to the kid but after witnessing the funko pop reddit generation of consumerism now I think of him as a hero.

Mass media and increasing corporate monopolies who have control it.

Every decade mass media have more control over culture and less and less corporations and interest groups control it so consumerism becomes like a centralized monoculture. The internet of course made everything worse, then smartphones came along and it was like the ong ring to rule them all and in the darkness bind them. Possibly in the not so distant future people will have neural chips installed so they can consoom ads in their sleep and all popular culture is owned by a handful of Megacorps.

Apparently that didn't happen, they just had a normal conversation but Guiness twisted it to be more negative. He didn't like that he was only known for being on SW though.

Cross-quoting to this thread so we don't go too far off-topic there.

/the "Adult Happy Meal" is a marketing stunt, and a failed one at that. Most consumers seem to think it's something McDonald's is doing on their own, but it's actually a "collaboration" with some streetwear brand I'd never heard of before.

She used it for another video:

Why do these abominations all have four eyes?

Were these generated by an AI or some retarded aliens? Seriously what the fuck were they smoking when they approved this? The only thing more embarrassing is that consoomers actually fell for this crap like they always do. You could sell bronzed dog turds as toys and people would buy them so long as they have the Disney, Marvel or McDonalds brand logo on them.

What the hell happened to this planet?
