If they can delay it until Republicans take the House and possibly the senate then the narrative for 2024 is 'Rethuglikkkans caused gas prices to skyrocket and sabotaged Biden's recovery, they're too dangerous to be allowed the Presidency.'

You act like Obama had a choice. He didn't come out until the very last minute, when propriety and political necessity demanded he stand by his VP. If there was any way for him to weasel out of supporting his VP and more importantly, his party's candidate for President, he would have.

Knowing how the Biden crime family operates I can imagine there was probably some leveraging of information too, possibly even blackmail. Biden was around Obama through a lot of scandals like Fast and Furious and the illegal bugging of Trump's 2016 campaign. That sort of information would provide some leverage, "back me or I won't back you if he comes after you and might even spill some dirt".

If they think that's feasible then the entire party is as brain damaged as biden.

I've said it before, but it bears repeating. The problem isn't that Biden is a child rapist going senile; it's that his entire cabinet are massively incompetent too. Buttigieg is incompetent and took maternity leave during the supply chain crisis, Milley and Austin are incompetent for bungling withdrawing from Afghanistan, Blinken and Nuland are incompetent (if not malicious) for shutting down any dialogue with Russia and thus any chance of diplomatically resolving the Russia-Ukraine War. These are all problems that could have been managed at the Secretary level under middle management with a bit of initiative and some loyalty to whatever overarching plan Globohomo has in store. Instead, they all seem to be unable or unwilling to bypass Biden's orders. That means they don't have independence or courage.
