I’m pretty sure someone in this thread at one point had an anecdote about when they were in active (heroin?) addiction, even their network of fellow addicts could band together in a bind and loan 20s til payday to make it work. Their point was that even as addicts they always paid each other back, so when one of them was down and out, they could still count on
someone to look out for them and make sure they didn’t go without, because their crackhead credit was good amongst friends. I can’t stop thinking about how much of a failure polissa is, that even dragon chasers can foster more good will, community, and responsible-er money management than she can.
Another thing I can’t stop thinking about is how emasculating it must be for Josh, the way she begs on social media. He’s not exactly a top notch man, but damn. She all but paints him as completely useless. She’s never grateful for anything, publicly plans their divorce, never seems to compliment or acknowledge his efforts, even if it’s just him getting up and going to work. I imagine that’s a major contributor to his aggression, he’s tied to a bottomless pit of a woman who will never see him as anything but a means to an end. As much as she crows about how “we’re not the sum of our bank account balances” she never mentions joh except in the context of his needs as a burden (rides, his health) I’m not whiteknighting for him or anything but I do feel a bit of sympathy for him. I can’t imagine being a stay at home spouse and being such a fucking bottomless pit of neediness and helplessness and negativity, and never so much as cooking the man a box of hamburger helper in between hours of shitting on him as a provider and caretaker.
